my trip is coming next month and I did all my calculations and food and transportation total up 200 myr per day per pax for 16 days.

how is it everyone is telling me Japan is expensive when all I need is 3200. everyone keeps on nagging me and my girlfriend to bring 8k. that's crazy.

I did my calculations right down to individual train tickets,  between a pasmo/suica vs the subway pass. it's cheaper with the pasmo.

the three day pass is only worth it if you take alot of rides but you won't actually when the places you visit can be segregated by zones and walking distances.

also the pasmo can be used for luggage storage which I will be using when I travel from Tokyo to hakone for a day trip.
