Omg guys thank you so much!!!

Msia - I will consider Samurai wifi
Osaka - If airbnb provides the pocket wifi, do we need to pay anything to them?

nope, usually it's included as part of the "amenities" . owners don't want to lose out since most airbnb in Japan are doing it.

the only thing you need to consider is the period when u just arrive and also when you move to another airbnb. obviously you won't have the pocket wifi during this time.

also, I'm not sure if data quota could be an issue since those pocket wifi typically have quite high data cap or unlimited.

hi all , this will be the second i travel to tokyo again , my last trip was 2014 back then , again i face an issue , im not quite sure anyone of you face it or not.

I bought Airasia to Haneda for RM379, however only one time can choose, whereby will reach haneda 1130 japan time

during that time , all shop was closed as well as all the train, what should i do in between ? last time i sleep on airport couch and that was not a good option.

taking taxi to town will be skyhigh cost

the only option i think of is staying is airport hotel

Yes seishun 18 kippu only inclusive of train rides. There's a trade off. While it's cheaper, we're limited to only Rapid and Local train; meaning it's a longer ride to our destination with cheaper price. And Seishun 18 Kippu ticket isn't like JR pass. It's calculated by number of usage per ticket.

"This ticket package includes five days worth of travel for only 2,370 yen per day. One person can enjoy the Seishun 18 for five days, or it can be split for use by up to five people."

Also dont forget that seishun 18 is seasonal and not always available. Can get you from Hiroshima to Tokyo in one day for just 2370 yen a day! Start at 12:30 midnight and reach 8PM in tokyo. smile.gif

Oh yes, it's seasonal. We managed to bought it on the last day it was available. So kancheong... first thing we did upon arrival to Nagoya city was to get to JR counter and ask for the tickets. Luckily managed to get it. Must say, my friend was absolutely good in planning laugh.gif

Hiroshima to Tokyo for 2,300+ yen ohmy.gif cheap!! but almost 24 hours journey laugh.gif nice if you go make stops along the way.

Very tiring travel like that...there is good reason why ticket is so cheap and you have to sacrifice a lot on others end up the same. Since you may rushing for last min train or bus during arrival so best to carry a pen on board flight so you can fill in the immigration form and custom form before plane landed. Then run for immigration clearance and since you likely won't check in luggage so next rush to custom but they may stop you to check bag etc total time from arrival to after custom about 30-45mins around 1.15am I'm not sure if there are still train/bus to catch might need to do some homework here.

That is super cheap....can do it while I am a student. Not now. Most are local trains and seats are too stiff. Those days there were no apps about schedule. So I have to rely on the JR timetable that is about 100pages thick which they publish every month. I think its all train timetable in Japan except Hokkaido and Okinawa.

Oh no that sounds hard. Since the only reliant is on the booklet... If traveler is not in Japan, can't plan ahead. And usually it's in Japanese as well sweat.gif

But it's very convenient to have this booklet. Too bad it changes every month. Imagine the staffs have to re-plan the routes each month... that's alot of hard work.

Depends on how many people are going together. If there's only 2-3 of you, I'll suggest SIM card instead of pocket Wifi.

You can get your SIM here: https://hello1010.my/country/asia/japan.html

Issues with pocket WIFI:
- Someone has to carry the WIFI with him/ her all the time.
- Have to ensure it doesn't run out of battery (power bank is definitely needed).
- It's hard to split up. When you do, only the person holding the WIFI router has connection.

As such, i prefer SIM; unless you don't mind the above and there's 4-5 of you travelling together and want to budget.

Just an additional option for you to consider.
