Will do.

But I must say, nothing beats Mt.Fuji + its reflection on Lake Kawaguchiko...

tbh, the custom officer in airports don't care 1. they don't even stop to collect the tax refund receipt that are attached to my passport. even when i hand them the receipt, they don't even demand to see the goods.

please do not have such kind of thinking. in japan, they follow the rules and everyone will pass up the receipt. i believe there are some tourists will think that way and don't pass up. do not forget that they have all your records of purchasing and already key in their system. if you didn't pass up the receipt they definitely know after you leave japan. whether they will take any action in the future when you back to japan again i have no comments  tongue.gif.. so just follow the rules to avoid all the hassle.

if one need to use that particular stuffs, just don't go for tax refund. that simple

1. Like you said, it's already keyed into the system. so receipt or not, it's actually quite pointless for the custom in airport to collect it. even when i gave them the tax receipt, they didn't demand to see my stuff as well.

2. In practical, you won't hand-carry all the tax-free stuff you bought. Unless I missed out something, I don't remember going through custom prior to check-in luggage.

3. For all intent and purposes, I believe they just want the tourists to spend more. If they worry about the 'minor abuse' of their tax-free practice, they could have just easily make consumable items as non-tax free. Simple as that.

Omg guys thank you so much!!!

Msia - I will consider Samurai wifi
Osaka - If airbnb provides the pocket wifi, do we need to pay anything to them?
*
nope, usually it's included as part of the "amenities" . owners don't want to lose out since most airbnb in Japan are doing it.

the only thing you need to consider is the period when u just arrive and also when you move to another airbnb. obviously you won't have the pocket wifi during this time.

also, I'm not sure if data quota could be an issue since those pocket wifi typically have quite high data cap or unlimited.
