I thought the whole point is to get those special holders? laugh.gif Many people buying those cause of the holder instead of the pop corn. biggrin.gif

But then curry no curry taste, I give up in taking their curry. Not to my liking. hmm.gif
*
depends on personal preference
i just want to taste the flavour only
i dn't need the special holder nor i have the luggage space to bring it back laugh.gif
too many food to buy outside to bring back, why bring back a useless holder laugh.gif

japanese curry are sweet, some ppl might not like it

I’ll have one week in Tokyo so should be able to take things slowly - will leave the other cities/towns for another time.. I just hope winter won’t damper the mood too much..
*
few thing can't miss in tokyo during winter
1. disneysea
2. winter illumination(specifically roponggi hill)

but bear in mind that disneysea during winter will have strong winds sometimes, and that may cause the fireworks show to be cancelled

QUOTE(noslek @ Oct 24 2017, 09:47 PM)
I’ll be there one day before Christmas - hopefully still in time to see the lights smile.gif The Roppongi Hill one will end on 25/12 so I might be able to catch it!

Not exactly a fan of Disney - never been to any Disneyland, and don’t think my partner enjoys Disney either, so may give it a miss
*
i'm not a fan of disney also
went to HK disney...ok lah
thn went tokyo disneysea...WOW...so much difference
but i went on their special anniversary, many extras
thats my 2 cent though
the ending fireworks are totally different than u would see on normal disney
its the only disneysea in the world, so for me..i'll just give it a go laugh.gif

as for the winter illumination, roppngi hill isn't the only place to see it but it is indeed the most recognized

Oh really?!! Then let me re-consider about Disney Sea again! I always thought the best theme parks will be in US and if I really wanna go I might just go to those in the US -> just my personal opinion.

Yup I googled and saw quite a bit of illumination but a few end earlier than the rest, so the plan is to fit in one per night (if possible), at least I see something specific to year end festive season.
*
well, it originated from US
so of course US is better
but can't afford to fly to US, tokyo is the best alternative we got
plus US dn't have disneysea, the only 1 in the world is at tokyo laugh.gif

For Airasia arrives at Haneda, upon arrival do they open the plane rear exit or only the front exit?

And f**k Airasia for giving me separate seat, mine is is 48C and my GF is 41C. Now I have to spend RM45 to change the seat. vmad.gif
*
using skybridge, so only front will be opened
and its normal to be separated

Robot restaurant...yay or nay?

Was planning itinerary too for visiting Tokyo early Dec, is Hakone worth a day trip travel from Tokyo?
*
robot restaurant is a yay if u can squeeze into your itinerary
hakone is worth a day trip as well
leave hakone-yumoto as the last because that place has the most things to buy and eat

QUOTE(zeese @ Nov 6 2017, 10:44 AM)
For hakone, which route is better, clockwise or counter clockwise? I will come with kids on Saturday in early december also. I know both ways are good but ultimately, you need to pick one. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons between clockwise route vs counter clockwise route?
*
counter clockwise
it has something to do with maximising the chances of seeing mt.fuji by members last time

Ehhhh the people spoilt the photo hahahaha I needed a "clean" background laugh.gif is it DSLR? I really envy those who have a pro cam. Very tempted to get one!! But they're expensive and heavy to carry around sweat.gif sigh #prosandcons
*
imperfection is the factor that makes it perfect
sometime too perfect ain't good
i got more pic of hakone

i dn't use DSLR, way too heavy
i use mirrorless, sony A5100 paired with 18-105G
and that pic is totally unedited yet

Nice shot through phone. I've always got an interest in getting a DSLR. I'm pretty sure I'll end up getting one, just a matter of time.
*

Hi All, where to buy Japan SIM card in Malaysia?
4G Unlimited Data for 7 days.
*
i dn't think there is such sim
u want 4G unlimited data, u have to go for pocket WIFI

QUOTE(WiLeKiyO @ Nov 7 2017, 01:16 AM)
If I'm not being picky,

Is there a huge difference between 1000yen Unagi vs 3000yen Unagi?
*
everything in japan is money = quality
the more money u pay, the higher tha quality
the difference will lies on the quality of the eel, the cooking process and the SAUCE laugh.gif
same as their beef and pork..same concept

Yes you can.

You can rent the sim card and plug into your phone.

Better get a pocket wifi if more than 1 person. The fee perday is quite expensive.

I use this --> https://www.globaladvancedcomm.com/simrent.html

But rent the pocket wifi. Can even get network from the top of the mountain (3G) and in the forest (4G).
*
i know but can his MIFI support japan's 4G band?...thats the ultimate question im trying to emphasise
having that machine doesn't mean u can plug in any countries' sim and use it everywhere

As long as it can 4G/3G. The band is same if 4G/3G.

Want playsafe, rent the pocket wifi from them. Pickup the device from airport. Return back by just drop into the mailbox before check in.
*
3G most phone have same band
but 4G has way more band and different country uses different band
if same band thn by all means can proceed

As long as your MiFi support 4G Advanced LTE, you can.

I am using Tenda 4G185 4G ( http://tendacn.com/en/product/4G185.html )
All I need is a Japan SIM card.

"Compatible with networks of 300 main dfferent mobile ISPs in 135 countries worldwidely, tested with major international ISPs,Such as China Mobile,China Unicom , China Telecom ; Vodapone, BT, PTCL, MTN, SMART, Orange, STC, Ooredoor, SFR Telecom,T-MOBILE,Beeline,Tele2......You can enjoy the network during your traveling aboard."
*
as long as u verified it support the band and ISP, thn all is ok
but as i know, ppl here choose renting pocket wifi like wiyo and travelrecommends is because its cheaper than getting a sim from JP
1. pocket wifi is unlimited, sim card(most i saw) isn't unlimited
