I roughly calculated to get back my initial investment is ~9 months, if the market keep going down and the projected return is increased to 12 months or even 15 months I am still okay with it because there's not much business nowadays that can give such a return in a short period. Furthermore, the GPUs can be easily sell off if crypto mining is found not to be profitable in the future

Profit rate of nicehash is dropping this week

surely not much people would buy used mining gpu as previous user already burn half of gpu life. mining gpu need to operate 24x7, for years if condition allows. it will reduce the gpu usability to half. gaming gpu are not meant to operate 24x7.

if i were to buy (i would not), i would certainly ask for bloody huge discount off retail price.

Surely not much people will be considering in buying a used mining gpu, but if the offer is too good to resist (few hundred lower than used market rate & potential buyer that has limited budget) I am sure it can be sold off.

Fingers crossed by the time the GPUs required to be sold off, the earning already cover the initial cost.

I don't mind risking "losses" in the unpredictable future rather than making gains in the long term.

They basically undervolt the GPU from ~110 Watt, 70C to ~65 Watt, 58C, that is a remarkable reduction of 45 Watt per card with minimal hashrate losses. With that configuration, the temperature can barely cooked an egg . If anyone doing a full scale multiple mining rig, an air-conditioned room of course are recommended.

FWIW I had 15 different 280x that mined for months 24/7, sold off all but 2 quite a while ago and not a single buyer had an issue.

Kept 2 for myself that are still being used in my desktops and no issues so I wouldn't worry so much!

Nicehash profit drop is due to the Bitcoin segwit2x and bip148(usaf)...Alot of people are concerned that the blockchain would split into two (hard fork).. It will be downhill until August 1.

According to their developer they will disable automatic payment on that day too.
