When we are not given good bandwidth, we resort to switching to an ip in which gives us a good international route. But now, no matter which ip we connect to, we're getting pretty much the same result. Really draggy gameplay. Frustrating. Wait a minute, is this only happening to me?

Nope. It's been laggy for me too - no PVP for the last week or so because its too frustrating to be beaten by lag.

There is no reliable IP since 2 days ago. 219.94 is the most consistant but still lags. I'm getting 700-1100ms with it.

Going to answer 1 by 1

For real!? = Yes

O_o, where do you live? = Kelana Jaya

what package? = StreamyX 1MB

what subscriber? = Dude i just told you!

what server? = Thaurissan?

what zone do you play in? = Huh!?

high pop? = i think not

ow pop server? = I JUST ANSWERED YOU!!

Anyway, just in my experience

219.95 = lag
219.94 = starting to lag
218.208 = good
218.111 = lag

By the way, streamyx is doing rather fine except for the throttling
somebody said AT&T (a.k.a. US StreamyX) is hosting all the bandwith there blocked all IP outside US because...

When we send our data(If you didn't know WoW sends data everytime you move/online), our bandwith (StreamyX) are used up but their bandwith (AT&T) is used up too

It's like saying

Hei you U.S. outsiders, stop feeding on our bandwith, you are not even our customer, we can throttle you whenever we want! So go away, slow gaming and also slow downloading to US server! We hate you bandwith eater, you don't even pay us and eats our bandwith!!!!!

Hmmm... I'd say still check though. ELCB going off too often is usually not a good sign. If it's tripping your power supply too often, there's a stray current somewhere in the house. Usually means frayed wiring somewhere, an electrical wiring is getting soaked by the rain or the entire system is not grounded well to ensure the stray current gets into the ground.

BTW, if the power supply is tripped too often, it's also not good for electronic stuff. They can't handle the shock of no power. >.< Electrical stuff may last longer though but still, not a good idea to have too much tripping.

heh it only goes off during heavy rains + thunderstorm, any other time its no problem at all.

not sure bout electrical, but one thing's for sure ur PSU/harddisks MECHANICAL items will fail easier.

ive replaced 1-2 harddisks due to motor failure, thankfully, they manage to get norton ghosted before fully die.

and not too long ago PSU failed.

Is your Mains DB outside the house? Heavy rains + thunderstorm usually means heavy winds bringing in the rains. And usually, house DBs may/may not be rated for outdoor usage i.e. not water-tight. Especially older systems.

Lightning can trip the Mains DB but only if lightning stirke was very near your house. If it's not near your house, shouldn't trip. By near, I mean that you literally feel the entire house shaking when the thunder booms.

The house I'm currently in is old (built in the 1970s). Only time the ELCB trips is when the above case happens. Else, no problem. Circuit Breaker boxes are all inside the house and not outside. ELCB and MCB are more than 20 years but still seems to work. *SEEMS TO*

Not any more. Havent logged on to Blackrock in more than a year.

Started WOW on Blackrock with a couple of friends who have since quit. Blackrock had a sizable Malaysian/Singaporean community then. Server was forever having problems and huge queues - we started calling it "Blackout"

Latency back to normal yesterday 400-500ms from 10pm until 3am when I logged. Fingers crossed that it holds - got a raid that I took leave to attend this week and will be plenty pissed if Streamyx is crapping up again.
