Just curious, any forumer here working in Sime Darby? I have heard a lot about GLC companies but I don't really have an idea about the pros and cons. Basically I'll be starting myself in their management trainee program. The fact is that I've resigned from a executive post and 'downgrade' myself to a trainee with only training allowance paid. So, I will be 'pok kai' for the next 6 months with so little money to survive.

My GF works in SJMC (under SIME)
The benefits good I would say. Housing loans, Car loans, Annual bonuses (kinda high), medical, stock options (which is like extra bonus) not too shabby.... |

Ah.. can't wait to start the program! Damn imagine u got the offer on end of Feb but the program starts at May. Isn't that too long for someone to wait?? Just my 2 cents .. GLC to me is a good place to settle down .. slow pace but less exposure and knowledge compared to other private sectors out there ... again ... that's just my opinion after working in one of GLC's for 5 years.

Hi there,
I'm looking a vacancy at Sime Darby Plantation as Account Executive. May I know, how do I apply for the position? Currently work at PETRONAS for almost 3 years. I'm very interested to joint Sime Darby especially at Plantation Div. Is there any HR focal person who I could liaise with? Expected to joint by January 2010. |

I go for interview 3 weeks ago but no call until now. Does it mean I fail the interview ? |

Gosh.. the last time I started this thread was on 2007, time really flies huh?
Anyway, to recap, I've joined SD for more than 2 years and I'm happy about it. No regret joining. Nevertheless, I really look forward to the new SD HQ in Ara Damansara, as my current working location is just too far.. : ( As for office politics, this exist in EVERY company ok? I consider myself to be lucky working under great bosses. They taught me a lot and I really appreciate tat! To sum things out, yes, SD is certainly a 'not bad' company to work with. |

I applied the Executive, Internal Communications & Publications - Group Communications & Corporate Affairs through its online application on 7 a.m today and received a surprised call from the Recruitment Manager around 2 p.m.
Had an interview over the phone and he would loves to see me again. He mentioned that there will be an online assessment in which the SD HR will manage it in April. If all goes well, perhaps the hiring process will be done in June according to the questions he asked. I was stoked. Tak sampai 12 jam, terus call. Scare the hell out of me. |

QUOTE(munky @ Apr 18 2014, 10:42 PM) Bro, whats the benefits like now? ya 16% epf. Car dont have so much discount what i know is around rm 5-6 car and depend on what car u buy. The car brand must be distribute under sime darby only can get discount.Heard that u get minimum rm11k discount for any cars under SD. True or not? Epf 16%? Car and housing loans subsidy how many percent? Medical? Sorry for asking so many questions Car no subsidy la, only house around 6%.. Medical is one of the best in Malaysia. I just claimed everything. I am resigning tomorrow cos i got a better offer. I dont see any future prospect in my current position. Good luck for those who will be joining Sime Darby. |

QUOTE(tai_digidestany @ Mar 19 2014, 06:56 PM) I applied the Executive, Internal Communications & Publications - Group Communications & Corporate Affairs through its online application on 7 a.m today and received a surprised call from the Recruitment Manager around 2 p.m. Mind to share ...after u finished your online asessment..what is the next step they did?Had an interview over the phone and he would loves to see me again. He mentioned that there will be an online assessment in which the SD HR will manage it in April. If all goes well, perhaps the hiring process will be done in June according to the questions he asked. I was stoked. Tak sampai 12 jam, terus call. Scare the hell out of me. Because i just did my online asessment after my first interview at Sime darby industrial.. They said that after this maybe the GM will interview me for a final asessment..Is it? |
