Yesterday, I have test drive Civic 1.5 TP and Mazda 3. I am very impress with Civic. I think it is better car compare to Mazda 3 overall for now. The Mazda 3, I tested have no G vectoring, so may not be total fair comparison. May retest Mazda 3 later.

I wonder how good is the Civic handling ? Anyone drive up to Genting via Hulu Yam route or any hilly roads ?

Short distance test drive, can't tell everything. Like to know before making any booking.

Guys, need an opinion for 1.5 TC VS 1.5 TC-P. I see most of the stuff is cosmetics. Only two things I consider important, Air cond Duo Auto and Navigation. Is it really useful or can I live without it ?

Personally I prefer Waze or google map for GPS map, (I am an iphone user).

For me is just the headlights. I know can install aftermarket but also the question of voiding warranty, worth it? Internal stuff like navi and duo climax etc etc is just something not worth for long term. Maybe just WOW for a week or two but lack practicality.

Myself booked 1.5 TCP because i dont want to void my warranty.

u got your answer
dual zone mostly useful if you always bring your wife/gf.
i seldom use dual-zone but tcp headlight is poisoning me

QUOTE(isr25 @ Jun 27 2017, 05:17 AM)
Actually can live without Dual Zone Aircond & Navigation... Unless your passenger likes different temp than you - passenger feels aircond too cold, but you feel just fine etc. Or also if you always travel in places that have terrible reception / infrequently travel to Singapore and don't want to pay roaming fees for navigation.

iPhone user, you're stuck with Apple Maps if you want to use CarPlay. Android user, you can use Google Maps with Android Auto, and also Waze has a beta version out for Android Auto. Still buggy though...
The ultimate reason why I chose TC-P over TC, is the headlights & aircond. Those scaly headlights wub.gif

Thanks guys for feed back

itu semua sweet talk by SA...first they tell u july then suddenly changed to august...this happen to me today morning after i managed to call my SA...xguna if you have a production plan in melaka but you cant deliver the car on time...
*
Which branch is this ? I will avoid this.

I call up some SA, if booking now some say end of July and some say August. One SA says they ramping up production for new CRV, so Civic will be less. I suspect he bullshit.
Hope to book one and replace my old car very soon.

i have  cancelled my booking with this branch already. might try your luck by calling all dealer if they have ready stock or not. i was lucky that yesterday i found one in Ipoh tht have a ready stock white tcp the only one left. the SA help me a lot and by end of the day the car is mine with everything settle from loan to registration with jpj. the best part is i found out that SA in puchong branch didn't register my booking in their DMS system. mmg jilake betul.
*
That's too much. I think they are overbooked and not honest. It's a good thing they don't call me, I can skip it for good. Congrats ! Enjoy your ride, doyok2630 thumbup.gif .

I contact a few and visited one. Apparently those with 3S, SA gives less discount and cautiously promising delivery date (up to 2 months). Others give more discount, seems to able deliver within 1 month hmm.gif . They would not say have ready stock, ask to book first.

honda factory busy for new crv. Civic production slow down.
*
So the SA I talked to, isn't lying. It can only mean, longer delivery time for Civic sad.gif

Hi,

I am getting my civic TCP end of th month
Anyone can recommend me any good tint?

The SA say the Honda ecotint/3m is nothing, tint = no tint. She ask me to go for speedykool - anyone heard before?

Thanks
*
Never heard of it. You can ask her for some establish brands or take it out and do it at other tint shops. It's optional after all.

Just received my ride a few days ago, TC-P Luna Silver. Have been driving around and enjoying it every minute. This my first Honda, I never drive a Honda before. Coming from an old school manual car (Alfa Romeo), Civic IMO is simply too hi tech. I am not used to the hand brake button and things like auto head lights. Gradually adapting to it.

As for performance and handling, so far so good. Have not push the car to the limit yet. At a later date, going hilly roads for a test. I find crossing roundabouts and overtaking no problemo. CVT isn't comparable to manual but it is not bad for an auto gear, quite smooth. Driving around town with moderate traffic short distance, up till now is about 9.3 km/l.

I think I make the right choice of buying TC-P, it looks better with the LED and GPS is immediately useful when the first time I driving back from the Honda showroom, since not familiar with that area.

I am having a problem with Garmin GPS unit. The GPS seems to be stuck at a position in the map. It is always Acquiring Satellites, the satellite icon keep on blinking. At times it is not responsive. I have try reboot HU a few times but does not solve problem entirely. Sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn't.

For TCP owners, is this unusual ?
Is there another way to reset it ?

May I know where you are living? If it's in high rise areas, satellite lock would often take longer times. Have you applied tint? I dunno if it's true, but somehow or rather, my phone GPS will get wonky on VKool tints. On 3 separate cars applied with VKool tint, my phone gps could not get a decent lock and often drift away.

Normally if I'm in an unfamiliar area, I would stop by at the side and wait for a few minutes for the GPS to get a lock first - this usually happens when getting out of an underground parking area tongue.gif Waiting for the lock while stopping is faster to get a satellite lock, compared to waiting for the lock while driving.
*
I am in Shah Alam, not many high rise here and not often go underground parking tongue.gif . The car is tint with V Kool. I check with my iphone, google maps is OK. Stopping or moving, it is not locking. Funny, it was working when I was first driving back to Shah Alam from Seri Kembangan. I wonder if is faulty unit.

I am going to drive test with phone google map, let's see if any difference. Tint problem or other issue.

Faulty unit - possible, but I'm more inclined to think it's the VCool tint causing this. I might be wrong though... Do let us know your findings. p/s, turning off and on the HU doesn't really work. If you want to restart your HU, you need to long press the power button and press on turn off iinm.

Since you're using iPhone, you can use Apple CarPlay + Apple Maps to navigate too. If you want to use Google Maps, you need to use an Android device, or root your iPhone to access it via CarPlay.
*
I plan to check with SC when 1000km service comes. Thanks, I know how to reboot the HU, have been following this thread for a while. I have no android phone, just iphone. So far, my iphone GPS works well via Car Play. Can't understand why phone GPS works better than the HU. I mean both of the devices are under tint. The phone is put near the gear area. According to the manual, HU GPS antenna is situated in the dashboard, should be in better position compare to phone.

And sometimes it works .... Minor annoyance ... doh.gif

If stick to 1.5 TC around 2 months end Sep should be able to pick up car liao.

The trick is to look for Honda dealer that have ready TCP stock. Then you can get the car fast.
Cancel current booking and go to another dealer (Make sure the dealer must have stock sweat.gif )

Hi all,

I've just booked the TC version yesterday. The only rebate I got was 2,291.12 (Hari Raya promotion which they will extend till August). Looking at this forum, rebates varies between 2k up to 5k. How did you guys manage to get more than what is advertise in the Honda website? I told my SA and she said the rebates must follow what is advertised. ETA 3-4 weeks

The only addon I wish to include is the window tinting by Honda. Looking at M - Horizon Safety & Ecotint ray barrier 4, which have the same price tag, which is more better? Is it worth to look at Ray Barrier 6 with just 500 bucks extra?

Also, in regards to car mat, I found this https://www.trapo.asia/my/car-mat/classic/c...c-2016-present/ recommended, can you guys share your experience using it?

Thank you for providing lotsa informations here
*
I asked a few Honda dealers and some SA call me up, thanks to my friend. This is before and after Raya. Discount is from 2k to 5.5k for TCP. Some give discount but no freebies. I think Raya promotion have nothing to do with discount, as some dealers offers only 2k discount before Raya.

Honda does not have their own sales branch in Malaysia, they rely on dealers to sell. From my understanding not all follow Honda's policies.

Yeah, understood.

I just wonder, I read a few postings here regarding fuel consumption. Did anyone test it under eco mode ?
