Hi guys, does anyone really have a fix for the dashboard rattling issue? Been search all over google and there is no proper fix for this.
Gone thru many times on the first post for known issues but dint really found the loose socket as mentioned in the pic. Ady went to Kahmotor puchong for 1k service and i guess u all can tell how it went.
Some members said to had got it fixed but SC is in JB, is there really no one here in Klang valley is competent to fix this issue?
Been a great car to drive so far but this is such a turnoff.

QUOTE(theonlyvin @ Sep 5 2017, 09:34 PM) Try to hit the A pillar. See it is loose. BTW, for my car, the A pillar is loose and colliding with my front dashboard. Therefore, i buy a rubber strip to seal in between the windscreen and dashboard cover. Now rattling gone. Left only the VSC Clicking sound and also the box below driver's aicond vent there yet to be solve. Seal in between windscreen and dashboard cover? Can have picture pls? Maybe i try also...mine is a very noticable vibrating sound from inside the meter cluster top cover...when i push the top meter cluster cover forward it stopped, when i feel it softly the cover did not vibrate. It seems to come from inside the top cover 😅😟

QUOTE(celciuz @ Sep 5 2017, 09:44 PM) Mine rattles when I knock below the push start button, feedback this to SC they bring the car out with me for test drive... then they mentioned repaired by tightening the dashboard screw. And true enough it went off. I dont have any issue down there, so far the top cover is the one annoying. Haiz

QUOTE(celciuz @ Sep 6 2017, 08:01 AM) Actually when I go uneven road, the sound comes from the dashboard. But when I knock the portion below push start it will rattle as well... (way to reproduce it without going uneven road). Maybe get the SC to check on the dashboard "tightening", I didn't get to speak to the foreman who attended my car though after it was repaired. hmm, this is something to think about. later i try knock abit see i can reproduce it or not. BTW where is the SC you sent your car to?

QUOTE(celciuz @ Sep 9 2017, 11:19 PM) Oh damn, manage to locate the rattle from my car... its the right side A pillar ._. if I knock the dashboard above the HU can hear rattle sound, but if I were to hold the A pillar then less or no rattle noise. Hahaha, i did the same thing today..knocking everywhere on the dash to find that stupid rattle after DIY sticker foam for pillar n dashboard gap..drove out just now, manage to kill the pillar sound nicely ady..one thing i found out, if u put ur palm on top dashboard slightly pressing down (above HU n aircond blower) and u knock again it will kill the rattle sound completely..but looks like this part cant be fix DIY..need to disassemble dashboard

QUOTE(marky @ Sep 10 2017, 04:02 PM) Mine is hit above speedometer rattle...press the area above HU then no rattle It shud be the same place, i have checked thoroughly and even open up the speedometer cover to see where it rattles internally...unfortunately its not that area..its somewhere inside the aircond vent that produce rattle, so when u press on top blower it will stop completely

QUOTE(celciuz @ Sep 10 2017, 12:38 AM) I'm interested in this "DIY sticker foam for pillar and dashboard gap". Can you share photos please? Here you go, the view from outside.
View from inside.
Buy this from Daiso.
-Slowly pull out the rubber trim from door for whole pillar size -Remove pillar screw and pull out pillar from car. -Stick foam tape to dashboard side as per pic -Install back pillar and rubber trim. Done Solved 1 civic rattling sound.

QUOTE(celciuz @ Sep 10 2017, 10:05 PM) Hmm, a bit skeptical about opening the A pillar though, maybe I should let my SC do it for me. But how hard is it to open up the pillar? Can pull out easily? Any hooks to watch out for other than the screw? Just the screw and 1 pull out clip in center. If you have no exp in car accessories mod then better just refer back to your SC. Goodluck!

QUOTE(v88 @ Sep 12 2017, 09:19 AM) yes. it is somewhere inside the aircond vent, that is the thinnest of the dashboard - i guess some wires is touching it to produce the rattling - try to smack it with your palm of the hand (harder), it may work. I did mine - it works, the rattling sound only come when you are driving on VERY rough road due to strong vibration. To certain extent - now my ride is quiet... hmm, wait until 1 fine day i dulan the sound ady then i will smack 9 it like you said. haha! but after i DIY the pillar foam tape now its quite quiet until some very rough road really. I saw many new owners post their car picture happily saying "no sound or rattle so far and hope it stays that way", have the urge to reply "mine was quiet too for the first 2 weeks, tell me about it after 1 month later"

QUOTE(Kaizer-Espada @ Sep 24 2017, 10:55 AM) 80% highway, admittedly in ideal traffic conditions (distance of over 170km): I find that the F.C. meter is usually ~2km/l higher than actual consumption, i.e. screen shows 15km/l but actual F.C. is closer to 13~14km/l. Still, I'm pretty happy the efficiency, and the power is there when you need it. Bro, buy screen protector and apply la. Look at your plastic Im selling for RM20, let me know if you need ya.
