BBC is the one breaking the news on man utd's bid accepted, sky sports follow suit later. both clearly do not have the same source inside everton camp then man utd will probably announce it in soon if lukaku is indeed going to man utd

no idea. but if anything, Sky Sports did break the news that Sergio Ramos was going for medical at man utd few seasons back. so there's that.

Most likely that an unofficial agreement has been made, but they just need to iron out a few more details before making it official. sources from man utd camp probably prematurely told the journalists that the deal has concluded.

a DM and a left back wing. I think that united is still onto griezmann for the vacant number 7, but only after atletico madrid has their player transfer ban lifted/ended. even griezmann himself admitted that the only reason he couldnt transfer out was due to the transfer ban.

its a friendly but still... it's a nice confidence boost to win against ur rival even in friendly matches

at this stage, i think we can all agree that lindelof is a flop. oh well, at least we'll have bailly and jones for our first premier league match.

both micki and lingard are inconsistent, but at least micki still has some impact on the game. cant say the same about lingard. he is fast and is willing to track back, but those are the only positive things that i can say about him other than scoring 1-2 goals in the finals.

both pogba and herrera failed to shine last night. even Fellaini had bigger impact and can pass/retain the ball better than those 2 ever did.

anyway, we got rekt in the first half for playing 3 at the back. you need physical and speedy CB like Ramos or even David Luis to make that formation works. Lindelof does not have the physicality and lack game awareness/poor man marking. 2nd half convert to the traditional 4 back, a bit more stability but still not enough quality to retain the ball possession.

have u not seen his pre season matches? most if not all of the goals conceded are because of his poor man marking. You can say "those are just friendlies man..", but so far, he has not been impressive at all. at this rate, Blind is a better CB than Lindelof, and that is saying a lot.

being bullied by MLS teams and other 3rd tier teams during friendlies consistently are not exactly what i would call as first team material. Vidic had a so-so debut, but he quickly adapted due to his physicality. Lindelof was never known for his physicality or his tackles, even during his Benefica days. He was known as the ball-playing defender that sprays long passing balls or carry the balls forward to the attackers. Mourinho has yet to play him as such and relies on Carrick/Matic to do so.

if lindelof can perform better defensively after torrid first few matches under man utd shirt, then good for him. but at the moment, i would prefer for other CB to start ahead of him.

both vidic and evra had underwhelming first 2-3 matches. lindelof has played in ALL of our preseason matches and still couldnt perform against 2nd/3rd tier teams (not including super cup btw).

like i said, i'd rather have Bailly or Smalling or Jones or even Blind to start as CB ahead of Lindelof.

i'd like to be proven wrong, but i wouldnt take chances of having lindelof as our main CB at the moment.

if u cant even perform against 3rd tier teams, u will definitely struggle against 1st tier teams in competitive matches just like last night lol. not very assuring at all. bang on average. The difference between vidic/evra and lindelof is that both vidic/evra struggled against premier league teams for the first 2-3 matches, then they started to gel. lindelof played 9 (read:NINE, or maybe 8) matches so far incld today's super cup, and he has yet to give an assuring performance in any of those matches.

Lindelof is brought in to save us all from the mediocrity of Jones and Smalling, but at this rate, that might not be the case.

but hey, if anything, the only way is up.

judging by the amount of money spent, we are supposed to be ready to challenge the title. but there's a lot of question marks surrounding our defense and our wingers. we have the number for our defensive lineups (lindelof, smalling, bailly, jones, blind, valencia, shaw, rojo etc), but out of those names mentioned, only Bailly and valencia can perform consistently. Rojo has been good for us last season but he has long term injury. The rest are just average.

and as for our wingers, it is the same case. we have the number but none can be the difference maker. we simply do not have someone with the caliber of neymar/bale/hazard/sanchez/ribery that can perform and create problems towards the opposition consistently. mata and micki are known for their great through balls and passing, but last season they were hit or miss.

i'd say, we still have the chance to win the title, but its going to be very tough.
