Can anyone help me?

I got this game today, I thought I might try it since it's fast paced and all drop in to play thing.

I don't know how to patch it! Should I start using Patch 1 to 5 or 5 only?? Also, why whenever I click create new account, it says lost connection to Massgate??? WHY?? Please,I don't wanna waste 159 bucks for nothing here.
