I am currently using Unifi 30Mbps VDSL and faced short disconnection from the Internet when I am downloading full speed.

The short disconnection almost always occur when I am downloading full speed. The disconnection usually lasts for around 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Should I change my Huawei HG655M BTU to ZTE H268E?

Does anyone know if HG655M overheats or unable to handle the workload?

Anyone knows if the copper line or TM hardware that is failing that can be the problem?

I think my routers are not the culprit since I have changed 3 routers and the issue persists.

Most common is either overheating due to lack of ventilation or the power supply itself no longer able to sustain the peak load of the BTU. I suggest you contact TM support & in the meantime check the BTU log if possible to know if it rebooted itself due when you lose the internet connectivity.

Ok, thanks for the heads up.

Checking the BTU log could be helpful in knowing if it has rebooted itself or not.

Had this issue last time when I was staying at Subang Suria. And yes, the apartment was using VDSL for UniFi
Technician came lots of times to replace the BTU to different models but the problem was never resolved

Finally decided to move to a different apartment that uses full fiber to my unit. Problem solved forever laugh.gif

Is it my situation unresolvable?

Do you know of any idea that can solve my problem aside from using full fiber?

If I would like to install full fiber, do I contact TM or the apartment management?

They are not the same router.

The brand and model are TRG212M, D-Link DIR-850L, TP-Link TL-WR840ND and TP-Link Archer C5.

VDSL intermittent connection normally cause by bad copper wire in cabling causing the signal noise higher than TM BTU can handle. there no easy solution bro. either contact building management to replace main core cable to raiser room or GTFO from that place and find new home

do you have experience using this router?
on what basis do you recommend this router to solve the disconnection issue?

this router cost about rm1k, not cheap
more info from real user are appreciated to justify the price/performance ratio.

TS,
Check the VDSL power adapter. It will cause the modem reboot if faulty or overheated.

I'm using it. Any problem?

I'm not saying the RT-AC68U will resolve threadstarter's issue, it won't
Because the issue is with either the old copper cable in his apartment or there is an issue in the MDF room
I am also not saying that ASUS routers are perfect, their low-end routers are no good. Like the RT-N12 & RT-N12HP that you've used before
However their mid-end & top-end routers are top notch

Why do you think there are so many ASUS RT-AC68U based firmware modified to be used on Netgear, D-Link, Linksys, Huawei & Xiaomi routers?
Buy the RT-AC68U and judge for yourself
Don't judge the brand wholly just because you've had a bad experience with only 1 of their product

The problem is you did not even read.
so you using dsl-ac68u?

Don't get personal with me, focus instead on the issue.
Your Asus Fanboy attitude is sickening.

You use other brands before?
If you have, you would realize there are other factors aside from the brand "asus"
like price/performance/range/features/budget etc to compare.

Low end mid end high end? Lol
To normal consumers it is either
cheap, affordable or expensive piece of crap.

Stop pretending you know me.
How you know I haven't tried the rt-ac68u?

asus based firmware used on other brand hardware only mean there are better alternative than asus.
How hard is that to comprehend? Duh...

Bodoh. Go read my other posts in this section of the forum.
I've used TP-Link, D-Link, Huawei, Belkin and lots more
I am also still a user of 2 Huawei routers

I know the previous posts was about DSL-AC68U, but you on the other hand is bashing ASUS as whole

Owh and by the way, I'm not a fanboy of ASUS. If I am their fanboy, I wouldn't have said that their low end units is not good

And by the way, whose getting personal here? You're replying to all my posts that wasn't even pointing to you
My posts were correct, there's nothing you can do, because building management will not fork out the money to take out the copper cable and replace it to Fiber cable. It's expensive
The cabling in an apartment is the building management's responsibility, not TM

So yes, unless you are willing to pay thousands of ringgit to lay your own fiber cable, there is nothing you can do

your posts are not correct.
building management has nothing to do with anything.

the apartment either has existing copper or full fibre.
if copper, fibre is until main mdf room
TM will usually use vdsl for convenience/cost effective sake.
TM are able to pull the cable from the mdf room to his unit if near.

when TIME bb provides full fibre service to an apartment that has copper infra,
they will lay one single fibre from the mdf room to all the floors, then to individual units as when required.

however, in TS case, he can
1) change router ( eliminating any fault from the router equation)
2) ask TM to lay full fibre to his unit if near to main mdf room.
3) wait for TIME

or like what you suggest, duh....
1) move to another apartment
2) nothing he can do.

thousands of ringgit in your era has gotten cheaper.
cost few hundreds depending on distance. (cheaper than expensive piece of crap asus.)
