Hi all,

I just subscribed to city broadband due to it is the only available ISP in my location , it seems they are using Calix router(all-in-one).

I am planning to purchase a better router this week. How do i set Calix to be an ONU only? Just turn all every features(wifi, firewall, etc.) ? Do i just use DHCP on new router to get IP from Calix?

Anyone has similar experience on setting up a new router, with Calix as ONU?

I didnt bought any, i have extra TP Link Archer C60 and Dlink DIR-842 from UniFi. Both are able to setup as a router.
I turned off DHCP from Calix and do Static IP on my own router, and successfully requested for Public IP address from CBB as i am having issues logging into certain game platform.

To anyone who is going to request public IP address, technical support from their hotline doesnt know what is this. Email to customerservice@allo.my helps.

Since 8/25/2019(Sunday), I am starting to discover intermittent packet loss every few minutes, sometimes every few seconds. Does anyone having the same problem as me? My location is Kenwingston Square Garden.

I have another question here,

Is it normal to have different IP address on Calix (11.0.xxx.xxx) and some website that checks my public IP address (202.168.xxx.xxx)? URL
FYI i already requested public IP address from CBB

Because i tried to do port forwarding on Calix to my server but it seems failed when i check from a port forwarding test website.

Okay after doing some research on the internet, it seems that im under CGNAT(Carrier Grade NAT)

Is it possible to request for an actual public IP address?

Okay I have asked them, and they changed my public IP already. Now i have succeeded in doing port forwarding and DDNS.

Yes it is free. Double confirmed with their billing department. I guess as long as you not requesting for static IP, it is free.
