Guys, why the confusion?

It's very easy to spot that this is a remake. Why?

- Improved geometry detail, this is obvious in the first 3 seconds of the trailer.
- Entirely reworked vegetation and field detail, again obvious in the first 3 seconds of the trailer.
- The model for Wander has been reworked entirely, he has the same artstyle but look at how many more "bones" he has in his body, providing more fluid movements.
- The models for all the Colossi in the trailer has been remodeled from the ground up, you guys have any idea how much work it is just to remodel ONE colossi? sweat.gif
- The lighting technique is also different in the game, there is a lot less usage of bloom for example.
- The textures has been completely redrawn from scratch so that they are natively of a higher resolution map, not upscaled from the the low-res PS2 maps. Again, obvious within the first 3 seconds of the trailer.
- The shader technique used in the trailer is also different to that from the PS2.

So there you go, it's an obvious remake.

Those of you with a TV that can do HDR properly will be in a for a serious treat. The 4k30 mode is one thing, but HDR seriously makes this game look jaw dropping. It definitely rivals Horizon Zero Dawn, which is pretty insane considering how drab the palette of this game is as designed.

I finished the game at 1080p60 with HDR, my eyes couldn't have been better. biggrin.gif

There are a few nibbly things that I feel should have been better though - the audio samples for some environment effects are kind of low quality for example. I don't really like Wonder's re-topolized face either, I don't know... just felt the original looked more in line. These are very minor things, because that aside this is no doubt the best remake of all time.

Can only imagine Bluepoint picking some other PlayStation classics as their next project.

If you know every boss, did speedruns before, know the entire map - this game can be beaten in an hour or less. If you are a newcomer, this game is at least a 6-9 hours playthrough depending on how quick you solve the "puzzles".

RM139 is a steal if you ask me.
