Guys, why the confusion?

It's very easy to spot that this is a remake. Why?

- Improved geometry detail, this is obvious in the first 3 seconds of the trailer.
- Entirely reworked vegetation and field detail, again obvious in the first 3 seconds of the trailer.
- The model for Wander has been reworked entirely, he has the same artstyle but look at how many more "bones" he has in his body, providing more fluid movements.
- The models for all the Colossi in the trailer has been remodeled from the ground up, you guys have any idea how much work it is just to remodel ONE colossi? sweat.gif
- The lighting technique is also different in the game, there is a lot less usage of bloom for example.
- The textures has been completely redrawn from scratch so that they are natively of a higher resolution map, not upscaled from the the low-res PS2 maps. Again, obvious within the first 3 seconds of the trailer.
- The shader technique used in the trailer is also different to that from the PS2.

So there you go, it's an obvious remake.

Exactly. This is, without a shred of doubt, a remake. Apparent by the significant upgrade in graphical fidelity. As you stated, it's exemplified by the increase in foliage for a more believable looking environment, massive rework in textures, obvious boost in polygon count due in part to the newer hardware, and just greater general polish to the presentation.

Let's not take into account the inevitable changes and tweaks to the gameplay, which I honestly believe will be revealed as the game draws near. Ultimately, this is a welcome fresh new coat of paint for my favourite game ever made, and I think everyone should be excited for this.
