You know you played too much Monster Hunter when ... this morning in the office, got a lot of dirt crumbs on the floor near the door, on the usually clean tiles ... then saw a bit more dirt on the carpeted area, leading away towards the seats ... instinctively, I tried to track the dirt and see it'll lead to who ...

I find that disabling the R3 for Focus Target, or at least change to Focus Camera (at Option), is better for bow. Else, when hunting in small area, the camera keep spinning around ... if focus camera, pressing R3 will just center the monster back.
If that's what you meant, the red square with cross target. If the circle aiming crosshair (for ranged weapons), can't turn off, right?

Tried once voice mic chat in-game with a fren, not smooth. Using PSN own party voice chat, much better; but need to add PSN ID lor ... maybe that's why less players voice-chatting in-game?

If for R3 Chinese characters, one of my frens also complaining hard to play using monitor. Myself using 23" monitor only, seating 1.5 or 2 meters away, English text/words are fine.

For me, armorskin, demondrugs are kinda must, while mega nutrient, stamina drinks are helpful.

Bandit Mandle is your best fren ... more so in 4 party!

Normally won't try to hunt / capture a monster in (at your own pace) expedition mode, the monster will leave the map after a while ... at any one time, they say only 3 big monsters are in the map; one leave, another enter.

Select Optional (can be repeated), or Investigation Quests (don't worry about the seemingly limited number, new ones will keep appearing until you've to delete less rewarding ones) if you really wanna slay or capture the monster ... if just testing without hoping to get the monster, up to you which quest mode lor.

(btw, after you proceed to high rank, on some storyline quests to research monsters' tracks, don't be like me and go on expedition mode thinking that the tracks should be easier to find without time limit, will waste time only .... in actuality, Investigation Quests mode is better, even if you didn't find any tracks, the research progress will increase bit by bit when you completed the quests.)

Legiana armour set managed to get me through low rank quests, then half-way through high-rank ... didn't farm much for other earlier armour set, coz using the materials for weapons instead, and targeting Nergigante armour set. Luckily got The Proving Ground (HZD Aloy's armour set), which I'm still using now ... when maxed, could fight solo Nergigante already ... but other Elder Dragons, haih, still need friends' help.

HR29 ... Double Bazelgeuse time!! ... heheh.

I haven't try that ... didn't play much nowadays. :-(
