well, this is my first monster hunter as well. some of the weapon does felt quite slow but everything have their pro and cons. if you like something that is fast, better go sword+shield or the dual blade. balance is very important so that every weapon is viable in the game.

for me, i started with longsword.. and then i changed to bow, light bowgun and dual blade. now, i am back to longsword for solo play and heavy bowgun for party. so far so good. use whatever weapon that you enjoy the most.

Yup. You can do that. After first few quest, the expedition mode will be unlocked where you can go out and freely roam the zones. But you wont be able to progress further into the stories and unlocking new map.

never played any persona game before. however, i don't think monster hunter can be consider relaxing sweat.gif

for newcomers like me, it is quite intense. constant dodging, no pause during battle, time limit, etc...

Guys, i am now trying to use bow during hunt. However, i am not sure how to enable the aiming crosshair. It used to be there early in my game. How can i reactivate the thing?

thanks bro! just tried that and managed to down HR anjanath. Wow.. trying new weapon does open up new POV of the game after 45 hours with longsword!

Each weapon type opens up new horizon of the game. I started with longsword but changed to bow after 50 hours and it felt really good. Pewpew from afar!

the end game farming is no joke.. trying to get a daora's gem yesterday and it took me 1.5 days of casual farming to get that. getting only 1 gold wyverian print from weekly bounty certainly is not enough >.<

as a first time player, i completed the game i.e. beat the final boss around 60 hours (died many times, try few different weapon types, hunt and craft things that i don't really plan to use, helping more newbies to beat anjanath doh.gif etc.) . so far, i clocked around 110 hours. the extra hours since beating the game is on farming.. currently at HR 42.

you can fight it again. for faster farming, repeat doing investigation. you can find it at resource center. just go through the list, select quest with kulu ya ku as target. and then go to your quest board to accept it.

but early in the game, that is the only way. if we do not progress the story, new map will not unlock and thus locking away new monsters and features.
