The investigation quests are bucket full. I have a hard time completing all. Some investigation quests (same ones) have like 5 or up to 8 times that you can complete it.

Bonkers! Is it one of those Monster Hunter series game mechanics?

Looks like I have to defeat Legiana a few times to get some of the material required for the armour set. Hopefully can kill her a few times this coming weekend.

I'm OK with the battles even if the monster run away and hide/sleep. As long as they don't leave the locale, I'm all in.

Legiana armour set managed to get me through low rank quests, then half-way through high-rank ... didn't farm much for other earlier armour set, coz using the materials for weapons instead, and targeting Nergigante armour set.  Luckily got The Proving Ground (HZD Aloy's armour set), which I'm still using now ... when maxed, could fight solo Nergigante already ... but other Elder Dragons, haih, still need friends' help.  sweat.gif
Oh, I want the Legiana armour because it looks good on my character. laugh.gif So far the only ones I like is Pukei-Pukei, Legiana and Rathalos.

Armour Design > Stats laugh.gif Please forgive me.

It was crazy yesterday. Rathalas or was it Rathian vs. Great Jagras vs. Anjanath.

Killed Legiana yesterday. Quite easy but just needed a little bit of time to down that monster.

Nice! I can take down Legiana and capture it in 14'08"75. My first captured monster. Hehehe! Considered not bad, right?

Let's say I go to hunt, the supply box near the camp site has quite a number of items. My question is, these items are replenished (new) whenever we selected a hunt? Are those free or it is from our own inventory?

farrrkk... I injured a monster until it started limping away from me. My heart broke, didn't know it would have this effect on me. Like wtfffff.......... This game should be called Monster's Hunting World, cause I realise we, humans are the true monsters.
I felt the same with Horizon Zero Dawn. I will end their lives instead.

monster running away is small issue, the most annoying part is when some of them decided to crash the party to have a monster orgy when you're soloing a weaker one
Sometimes it's a triple meltdowns. laugh.gif Go in and cucuk-cucuk a bit then get the hell out of the chaos. Then get in again. laugh.gif

monster icon on the bottom left of the screen will also show a heart beat. can somewhat guestimate from there.
The heart beat is kind of hard to gauge. It's either blue or orange. I think it's better to look at the "limping" action when the monster is retreating + "skull" indicator in the mini map.

you'll only see skull when you've fully researched it

usual indication of monster health is the dragon pods/scatter pod/whatever pod they dropped
1st drop is usually at 50% health
2nd drop is at 25% health, that's the capture threshold, but not 100% for successful catch
skull is almost 100% successful catch

of cos, Xeno is an exception, it's dropping those pod everywhere sweat.gif
Hmmm...I didn't know the pod droppings are like an indicator too. laugh.gif My personal observation:

100% - 70% HP: Whack like no tomorrow.
30% - 69% HP: Whack like usual but be more careful as they tend to be more aggressive.
29% - 5% HP: They'll retreat (by limping + fly away) to their nest to sleep. Usually I whack 2 to 3 combos and it's erm...electric trap and tranq smoke (2x). laugh.gif

I'm well in to the 80 hours++ zone but still HR8 or HR9. Lulz! *THIS IS BULLSHIT! laugh.gif

By the way, I do have problems with the aiming though, for an example I try to get my shield bash into the monster heads, but the aim always goes way off. and sometimes when im hitting the tails, i am slashing through thin air, how to deal with that? And what camera setting to use? I don't like R3, i realised it brings me to hit other places, like I want to hit the tails and my character goes off and hits the head which sometimes got me killed cause I don't want to be there at the moment!
In my opinion, it's one of the stupidest things in Monster Hunter World. The sure thing is face directly or face in-tangent to the monster you are whacking.

Hope they'll refine this combat mechanic for future series.

I think you are better than me. Now I'm touching 100 hours mark and still HR11. laugh.gif

I was lucky to have captured Deviljho yesterday. Hehe...

Quite a challenge and was quite a sight when he just attacks whatever on sight. Great Jagras, Azure Rathalos, Anjanath, Pukei-Pukei...Is Deviljho the monster of all monsters in Monster Hunter series?

Well it spelt some good news for me under update 2.00. May the Sapphire Star light your way.

I finally hit high rank yesterday night. farming Zorah armour before I go for difficult quest. Btw, I realise that the armor cannot be upgraded? It says it's already maxed.
I'm still stuck in HR11. Let me know if you want to do the next "Assigned" quest so that I can proceed further to HR12. It's crazy to have quests completed for your levels to be reflected. laugh.gif Zorah β looks better than Zorah α but the stats and stuff differs. It's either Zorah or Legiana. Go for looks and not stats. laugh.gif

Oh do let me know if you doing the "Tickled Pink" under Assignment Quest. laugh.gif I need to progress at least until HR16.
