damn it, i thought the tempered Jho event was a week long event, turns out is a limited weekend only event
now it's no more cry.gif
Haven't managed to defeat it yet cry.gif

Killed it on my second attempt, but it was probably the toughest tempered monster I've fought so far. Hits like a TRUCK.
I went full defensive. Evade Extender 3, Stun Resist 3, Evade Window 5 and still found it to be a very difficult fight.

I was rolling with 500 buffed defense and was still taking about 30-40% health per hit. I think I might have to switch to a lance + uragaan set build to take it down comfortably. Never spammed so many resources till Tempered Jho lol. Used about 10-15 adamant seeds lol

The normal Deviljo is hardest thn Tempered Kirin imo lol

The normal Deviljho was pretty easy. There were some complaints about the difficulty on the forums and CAPCOM probably went "FK IT" and took Tempered Deviljho to another level. It should be a 10* Star Quest, instead of 9 laugh.gif

I was being aggressive in the first try. I'm like 'Nah its just a Normal monster!!', keep trying to face in-front him for maximum damage. Then he smack the shit out of me xDDD
2nd try being much careful but still more challenge thn Tempered Kirin.
*
Haha true. From the trailer, I knew it would be a super aggressive monster. So for the first few mins, I was just studying its patterns. Then I realized you would have to fight it on the backfoot and I had taken a cautious approach to the fight (I.e like the tempered kirin fight).

For first try I did go with a non-elemental weapon and found out it was barely scratching his thick armor. I went with a dragon elemental switch axe and it was much better.

There is more risk as a melee character than range, so it makes sense for range to get some additional aggro over melee. Even when the monster is attacking a range player, the melee will still need to watch for its hitboxes or else we would take a hit as well

tsk. No wonder, I always find it most frustrating when I am trying to drink some pots and do sharpening or even setting a damn trap and that thing just turned and rushed towards me.. Like wtf.

Especially black diablo, i hate black diablo with vengeance.

Screamer pods and stun resistance 3. Should be a piece of cake. Drop screamers when its burrowed.

I've seen people with Flash pods but i swear more than half the players in the game have never used Dung Pods or Screamer Pods.

Hey all, how hard is tempered monster? What should I do to withstand them? Level up my armors?
*
They're just slightly harder than the High ranked version. Some are far more significant (I.E high ranked Deviljho to tempered Jho). Basically, they hit MUCH harder, have more health and armor and have higher damage on their special attacks. (Potentially killing you in a single hit if you're caught). Once you've augmented all your armor to the max upgrade levels, their melee attacks should be easy to deal with. So yes, definitely focus on armor upgrades for a start. Once you've got that sorted, start upgrading your weapons and optimizing/diversifying your build for each monster type.

I have upgraded my sword and shield to the last Nergi's tree. Eradication Vanguard iirc.
Only now it's the armors, I have set up the skills to the way I want. Only thing i can do now it to upgrade them to max levels, which only have 3 levels max. Augmentations only start after rank 49. So right now, at rank 29, what can I do without augmentation?
*
You're right. What I ended up doing was completing all my side quests that leads up to the "The White Winds of the New World" (https://monsterhunterworld.wiki.fextralife.com/The+White+Winds+of+the+New+World), which is like the last side quest of the game. It'll reward with you with "Research Commission Tickets", which you need to craft high end equipment such as Handicraft Charm 3.

To get to that you need to get Red Completes (which are full completes) for all your quests up to the 8 star quests. This will take a lot of time unless you've been diligently doing every questline in the game up to now. You'll also unlock Affinity boosters, and a bunch of mantles along the way. IIRC, there is a Teostra quest that you'll only unlock if you've fully researched 14 monsters in the game. so you'll need to work on that as well.

Once you get up to the point of doing the HR49 quest (Tempered Kirin), you'd want to have a set of gear capable of doing the fight. (Stun resist 3, paralysis resist 3, thunder resist 3 are an absolute MUST)

Here is a list of all the Optional quests you need to get Red Complete Stamps. https://monsterhunterworld.wiki.fextralife....Optional+Quests

You'll need to get Red Completes up to 8 Stars to unlock the White Winds quest.

affinity boost is quite complicated to obtain, need to complete several side quests from Research Base. There have 2 side quests, you need to collect materials then pass back to the Resource Center in Astera.
*
Its definitely quite a task but it gives you something to do once you've cleared Xeno and before you've unlocked Augments.
