If for R3 Chinese characters, one of my frens also complaining hard to play using monitor.  Myself using 23" monitor only, seating 1.5 or 2 meters away, English text/words are fine.
I'm in for English. Anyway, 60" TV will be OK right? If it's hard to read the wordings, I'll just sit nearer. laugh.gif

The only thing I have qualm is "direction" the character facing and the "combat" actions. Seems like there's input lag or something.

Hi guys,

Need a little bit of a help here. I'm trying to upgrade my equipment (Long Sword). I'm currently using Iron Katana II and I thinking of upgrading it to First Dance I.

The thing is, I'm short of one material: Kulu-Ya-Ku Scale. Now, the question is, how to hunt/spawn one of those? I've killed one and I got the beak as well as hide. I need one more scale from that creature.

Help please?

Lucky me! It gave me as a reward (Kulu-Ya-Ku Scale 1x) when I head home after defeating it again. Yeay!

Let's say I'm now HR6 and taking down Great Jagras, Anjanath, Kulu-Ya-Ku, Pukei-Pukei, Tobi-Kadachi ...takes around 15 minutes with no support items or whatsoever, just my trusty Long Sword. However, with Rathalos, I got a problem. Any tips?

Am I doing it right?

For me, armorskin, demondrugs are kinda must, while mega nutrient, stamina drinks are helpful.
I don't have anything that you mentioned. I think I got only one Nutrient. laugh.gif

Craft them! don't be stingy with your mats/harvest early on, else you'll end up with lots of unused mats in later game, and asking yourself, what am I hoarding them for? tongue.gif
I just throw everything in the box. laugh.gif I think I'm going slow for this game as having less time gaming.

Toss flash to their face when they flying, they will fall down, this shorten your hunting time alot
Erm...How to toss the flash? More importantly, how to craft the flashpod? I got to admit, those flying monsters are more annoying + the weird combat mechanics. It feels stupid when you just swing and all you hit is nothing but air. laugh.gif

Flashbug  biggrin.gif and you can harvest flashbag too.
Correct me if I'm wrong. I pick up a Flashbug and put it in my pocket. As and when I want to throw that little sucker out, I select it via D-pad, press square button and there goes the flash? Bird is down, whack, whack and whack?

You just ring my bell. I'll try it soon. Thanks!

Flash Pod is item that u can equip like Capture Net, Fishing Rod or Pod (Slinger Pod, Redpit etc.).
Just fire the flash pod out like u fire slinger or redpit.
Check on ur crafting list under support, Flash Pod is one of the earlier stage item
Yeah....About the Capture Net. I tried twice approaching the kitten. I press square and something happen. Then I press L2 and R2. The net sprung out like one metre. The damn kitten ran away! I aimed the targeting reticle at the kitten but the net is like disappointing. I was hoping for like a spidey-web action. Boy, oh, boy I was wrong.

The radial menu...is another thing. I thought tutorials are rubbish. laugh.gif

Hi guys, just out of curiousity. For whatever reason or under what circumstance that the monster will leave the locale? I whacked Legiana for about 20 minutes and she flew away. After a minute of so, there's a message promting something about "Legiana has left the locale."

I once fought a Barroth, the muddy monster and the same message appeared. However, when I was near the area where he "disappear", he appeared out from the muddy water and I was like WTF. I thought I lost him since he left the locale already.

there's a time limit on how long a monster will stay in a map during expedition, but not sure about actual limit tho, I think should be around 30mins
it's to prevent you cheesing the stronger monster to death

That Barroth is not the same Barroth you fought earlier, it will have full health

investigation is the best way to farm for parts if that's what you're looking for
I'm not too sure about it. Anyway, it's more for skill testing or maybe testing certain things out since I'm new in the Monster Hunter series.

QUOTE(r2t2 @ Mar 7 2018, 01:40 PM)
Normally won't try to hunt / capture a monster in (at your own pace) expedition mode, the monster will leave the map after a while ... at any one time, they say only 3 big monsters are in the map; one leave, another enter.

Select Optional (can be repeated), or Investigation Quests (don't worry about the seemingly limited number, new ones will keep appearing until you've to delete less rewarding ones) if you really wanna slay or capture the monster ... if just testing without hoping to get the monster, up to you which quest mode lor.

(btw, after you proceed to high rank, on some storyline quests to research monsters' tracks, don't be like me and go on expedition mode thinking that the tracks should be easier to find without time limit, will waste time only  sweat.gif .... in actuality, Investigation Quests mode is better, even if you didn't find any tracks, the research progress will increase bit by bit when you completed the quests.)
I tried Investigation Quests for a few times but it'll automatically back to the camp site once completed the said quest. Maybe I should just re-register certain Investigations and hunt monster from there.

Upon completing Investigation Quests, will I get leveled up? Currently at HR8 and my Palico at Level16. shocking.gif My kitten is higher rank than me. laugh.gif

Addendum: As for the Flashpod, I have to press L2 aim at the front of the monster (hoping the monster will see at that direction) and press R2 to shoot right? It's not aiming directly at the monster, right?
