Regarding layered outfit sets like the new Brigade outfit, is it possible to equip certain pieces of it or can your character only equip the full set?

Thought I saw one player with the layered Samurai helm but the rest of his body were showing other armor pieces.
It can be by pieces.

Unfortunately for you, that person must be stupid for kicking you.
I play a lot of HH, so far haven't experienced anything like that at all.
Misconception here. Yes, the ideal part is to deal damages while buffing, but there are self buffs that HH users need to do for themselves in order to deal the best damages for the main buffs later. Just because a HH user is standing aside buffing doesn't mean he/she is bad. They could be doing the self buff. Also self buffing is to ensure that they deal higher damages, attacks won't bounce, and run faster & etc for later. And for some monsters like ATK, you need to keep the buffs up all the time and there are no a lot of windows for you to play the song while dealing damages, thus standing aside to keep the buffs up for all the other players!

Those people who kick HH users just because they are standing aside to buff? At least they are buffing, I have seen plenty of other weapons who are just purely leeching. A good HH user is someone who knows which horns to bring for different situations to help and support the team the best, and able to keep up the buffs up! Dealing damages in a team is definitely a welcome bonus! But when you are a team, your buffs help players to push through, kill faster, and survive better!
That summed up pretty good for a HH user. laugh.gif

try joining sos Arc Temper Vaal Hazak. super Nightmare. lol
If a four players hunt fail, try to go for two players hunt. It takes an average 20 minutes (2 players hunt). Most importantly, If you do not have any faint past 10 minutes mark, you are doing good. laugh.gif Anyway, I've got 8 pieces of the Vaal Hazak tickets...So it doesn't matter any more. The fastest was 11 minutes (four players hunt) against Arch-Tempered Vaal Hazak. You do not have to go super defensive, a balance weapon/armour will do the job. You just need to know when to go in, when to back off.

If an average new comer like me can, so do you! Good luck and have fun hunting! laugh.gif

I'm going to create a LYN squad for Malaysia timezone. Easier for us to hunt together whom usually play from evening till midnight. Especially for the upcoming behemoth event.

Do update the following list for the invite if you are keen. PM me if you don't want to share the PSN.

1) PSN = my_lelynx (HR 130++ Main = SA)
2) PSN= Rowlmay (HR100, random time)
3) PSN = Orcinus1202 (HR500 Main = LS) I'm a noob. laugh.gif

if you can, play with japanese/korean/chinese players for behemoth quest. in my experience, western players suck. they will quit the quest when they die or they will run around like idiots thinking that this monster is like another elder dragon.

i only beat this quest when i played with a group of japanese and chinese hunters who knew what they were doing.

btw, i think this quest is full of crap & was designed to give players a hard time. also capcom saying that this quest can be done with anyone with HR15 rank is a joke. any hunter with that kind of rank will be easily killed by behemoth.

i heard that an EX version of behemoth is coming at the end of the month but i won't be wasting my time doing it because it will be full of crap like this one.  bangwall.gif
I think the minimum Hunter Rank is at least level 16. But then again...Maybe Capcom is pulling a joke. laugh.gif

I just started playing...  May i ask when will the quest for wyvern greatsword going to be?  Anyone know?
Good hook playing GS hahahah
If you are referring to the Wyvern Ignition "Impact", you need to get Wyvern Ignition "Steel" first. You need to get these materials:

2x Master Craftman's Blueprint
7x Dragonite Ore
2x Paolumu Webbing
2x Rathalos Marrow
8,000Z

These are the materials required for forging Wyvern Ignition "Steel". Once you are done, proceed further with the followings:

3x Master Craftsman’s Blueprints (you may want to farm the quest: Every Hunter’s Dream)
2x Elder Dragon Blood
5x Firecell Stone
1x Wyvern Gem
32,000Z

Good luck and have fun!

Guys just come back to this game after 2 months hiatus, and just curious if someone willing to team up with me for behemoth. More or less carry at this time, since I am not familliar with him.

I just soloed AT Kushala and Teostra this last few days, but Behemoth apparently need team. Tried couple of times in Random sos but people including me keep dying lol.
Normal or Extreme Behemoth?

It's better to take on extreme Behemoth. You can always solo on normal Behemoth as extreme Behemoth is on Event Quest.

I think AT Lunastra might be the toughest so far compared to all the other AT monsters.
ATL, ATKD, ATK (these three can be on paper build) and ATVH (could be on paper build but with a mindful of caution) are the easy. While ATT (as annoying as it is with defensive slapped on) is the toughest. laugh.gif

Currently MR600 HR999 but nowhere near Platinum trophy for Iceborne. It's pretty sad but it's fun to slay more monsters. I'll have to see how long to get the Platinum trophy as I'm taking it slow and steady.

It is possible to solo Safi'jiiva but good luck to you. Personally, going for P1/P2 in a group of four is comfortable. P3 is a bit of a crunch already. Let's not talk about going for P4. laugh.gif

Hey guys, I am currently going to do the Blackveil Vaal.
For Blackveil, I would suggest, Effluvial Resistance Level 3, Health Boost Level 3 and Health Regen (augmented) - optional.

ER3 and HB3 are your blanket against Blackveil.

39 mins defeated Shara! Defense is definitely the best offence.

Defense level 6
Attack level 4
Stun resistance level 3
Mirewalker level 2
Freemeal level 3
Speed eating level 3
Recovery up level 2
Earplugs level 4

Her rock form was annoying abit but at least it was alot easier than the 'cast off' form. Everytime she does her super attack, immediately threw a farcaster. I read online that her hind legs and tail is the best part to attack, which is what I did. I kept clutch claw her tail and soften up both legs and tail and kept on aiming on those area which is considered to be the 'safe spots'. I was panicking when I saw the timer I got 12 mins more left. But luckily the last round did some blade dance and and mission passed! Definitely my main strategy now against it.
No Health Boost? Health Boost Level 3 is a very good ROI. Better than Defence Boost Level 6 if I'm not mistaken.

Totally forgot about that. I knew I was missing something on the list, lol. But yeah, I had health boost lvl 3. I was actually careful to not use my Rocksteady mantle. Just use my temporal mantle all the way.
You can opt for Glider Mantle. There's two Level 4 slots. Can put anything to your heart's content.

QUOTE(junclj @ Jan 13 2020, 12:54 PM)
I want to ask, kill the monsters directly or capture the monsters is better in the guiding lands? Actually for me the answer is both are the same. When you kill it, you just can dig materials from the monsters like 3~4 times with one new monsters(call-out). If you capture it, you will get one new monsters(call-out) and the extra 3~4 extra materials will go into your report.

Both are slightly different in some ways or the other. Capturing will net you normal materials while slaying it will net you more special materials/Guiding Lands exclusive materials. Capturing also shorten the time as well as "safer". Go for wall bang (for extra shinies) and trap thereafter (unless the monster is slayed from the wall bang. It is safer also (maybe not so much for GL compared to Investigation) when you a faint or two downed. You level up your region faster with trapping too. But then again it's GL, so...My short answer: Trap is my choice.

Last time, I got argue with a noob leader. I am going to capture a rajang, but the leader keep attack me to avoid me to capture it. I was wasted one of my trap. So I use farcaster to go back to camp to refill a new trap into my inventory again. This time, I wear rocksteady mantle then go to capture. The leader try to avoid me but was failed this time. Finally was successfully captured. So later that, after we went back to camp, we argue each other. The leader just simply to scold me with some rude word, I have really no idea what's the different between kill and capture that makes him so unhappy. He just simply give a noob reason to say kill directly will get more reward. What?? Come on, our reward can be get from report too after we capture it. So in the end, I really give up to continue argue with this noob, since he is leader. He want to kill or capture it's up to him. So I quit from his SOS and go to join another group.

Since the hunt is hosted by someone else, it is better to play by their rules unless...They are being dumb in ways or the other.

Since that time of my bad experience. Every time when I join another player's SOS in guiding land, I never capture the monsters again unless the leader want to do it. So leader want to kill it, then we kill it. Leader want to capture it then we capture it. As long as leader is happy. There still got many strange players outside there, when we meet someone unhappy then I just quit lah. I'm now MR672 and HR999, not too high rank also but at least got higher rank than many players outside there. I also can solo the tempered silver rathalos, tempered gold rathian, tempered rajang, tempered ruiner nergigante too because i got several sets of HBG that can kill them easily by solo. I also can host myself in guiding land to become leader and ask online players come in to hunt monsters together. My home line is unifi 500mbps, fast and never disconnecting.

I'm also a hunter of MR999 HR999 for quite some time already so usually it's just chill hunting. No problem soloing or engaging in team hunts.

Actually kill or capture is no different. Besides that, I just want to go in to do my MR leveling only. I do not mind about what kind of materials I get because I got too many completed set of weapons. I can switch to LBG, HBG, switch axe, insect glaive, hammer. Just only HBG, I already got several types of build. My purpose to play in guiding land just need for leveling only.

For MR leveling, my two pence worth of advice: It doesn't matter if you trap or slay it.

Here is the best build for HBG to kill tempered silver rathalos, tempered gold rathian, scarred yian garuga easily.

Sticky? Still on Rajang? I'll go with LBG Safi's Aquashot. AB 7, Agi 5, PP 3, EW 3, FE/AU 3, Arti 3, Slug 2, HB2, ...etc. Slap in Temporal or Glider Mantle and fit in some decos and you are good to go. If still want to roll with HBG, I'll go with Safi's Burstcannon 3.0 for Spread 3 all the way. Locked and loaded wit Sleep Ammo for resetting the aggro for wall banging.

everytime i log in, the login bonus has some notes.

one of them said to claim the commemorative set by 23 jan 2020.

how the heck we claim it? hmm.gif
some say go to your room talk to the meowster - but i dont see any thing to claim there from the options available - just some DLC which already claimed.

hmm.gif
If you are referring to the commemoration pack for the Osaka MH Festa event that was released, you'll be getting:

- Demon Powder x 20
- Well-done Steak x 25
- Whetfish Fin+ x 20
- Dust of Life x 20
- Expert Jewel x 1

Probably you've received it after closing the Login Bonus window. I've gotten mine. laugh.gif

So I finally hit lvl 4 Rottenvale in Guiding Lands but I think I am still level MR48. Man, it is gonna take awhile to level up to MR69 so I can hit level 6 Rottenvale for Brute Tigrex. That's gonna be alot of monsters to fight to lvl up MR. Any tips to get more exp? Fight only MR elder dragons?
Trappings and target those monster(s) that is exclusive to that particular region that you want to level up. Alternatively, join SOS for Guiding Lands. Personally, I just tag along with my squad. THey'll go GL from time to time and upon request too. laugh.gif

Hi guys,

I’m new to mhw. I saw many ppl has been using clutch claw. How do I unlock the optional quest? And I realise my long sword can’t use iai slash as well
CC is part and parcel of Iceborne. It's common. Once you've done with one Optionals or as and when you go along, it'll unlock. What do you mean "can't use" IS?
