HP parts aren't OEM from Acer. Both HP and Acer order their parts from the same ODMs. This is true for other major PC manufacturers  too, but of course quality control, service and reliability can vary even if they're from the same ODM (because they are produced to different specifications and cost).

HP, like all major brand name OEMs, seldom manufacture their products. They design the specifications and submit ithem to their ODMs (mainly Taiwanese companies such as Compal, Quanta, Inventec, Wistron) who will manufacture them to the given specification. You can simply tell where yours come from by looking at the box.
