I was advised that low-ed SG stuff is like that but the higher end ones will not have this problem.

Anyone wanting to try out Sonic Gear Morro 200, be warned! This is a lousy piece of hardware where the designers only focused on it being USB powered. Bought one (for RM19) attacted by that and its slim design - now regretting it like hell! Tested it on a few PCs with Soundblaster and Xonar cards - it produces a continuous crackling noise even when the cards are silence. And when playing music, it is flat and kills the music (no oomph - compared to my old RM20 no-brand speakers). Don't think Morro 210 will be any better.
