I'm not sure but I think SonicGear has been improving their quality over the last few years.
Didn't use to buy cause I thought it was cheap sounding, but even the old Evo speakers which everyone was ranting about? I think they did something to it to tweak the sound over the last couple of years, it sounds much better... thinking about getting one....
I went to try Edifier and Altec.. I think Edifier is ok, but the way they tune the audio in terms of the highs is not what I like... sounds abit piercing... but mm.. the SG evo platinum seems like much better value.... Altec.. just doesn't sound as good as it used to..
hahahaha the tweeters not being attached must have been some horrible error. My friend bought one, saw the photos and went to the service center, they reattached the tweeter and what it does now is kinda like ambient sounds~ I guess that works too. saw some thread about the tweeter being fake altogether... anybody who has had any experience with speakers would know that it is a real tweeter, even if it is a cheap one... LOL.... but not being attached is a big no no~
As an overall I think SG has been trying harder than the other brands, they may have gotten off on the wrong foot, but their service is really good. The motto of 'Trusting Your Ears' is good too... It's not asking you to buy it or anything, but its good advice for any consumer =) I'm not a SG fan now... but... maybe in time to come...
