Preordered it.
I hope I did not make a bad decision. Didn't like dissidia much during the closed beta. I don't usually pay full price for a fighting game. Did that for xenoverse2 and I didn't like it. This post has been edited by LegendLee: Jan 23 2018, 03:06 PM |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Jan 23 2018, 05:10 PM) This is a pure fighter, not xenoverse scrub fighter. Different games. I like the original budokai a lot. Easy to pick up, but it's going to take some dedication to get good at. So far I think the game is fairly balanced, there are some oddities here and there but it's definitely one of the most balanced 2D fighters on the market right now. So if you keep getting pummeled by something, it doesn't mean it's broken - it just means you don't know how to handle a said move that is wrecking you. No. Why would it have open world? Though from gameplay footages, this reminds me of marvel vs capcom 3. |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Jan 23 2018, 06:06 PM) It's MvC tag system with Guilty Gear and Blazblue combat mechanics coupled with projectiles derived from the PS2 Budokai series. Directly comparing it to the Budokai series beyond that makes little sense because Budokai was a 3D fighter, this is a 2D one. The original dragon ball budokai was 2D. The game is designed to be the "Overwatch" of 2D fighters, where anyone can pick it up and have fun playing. I'm not talking about budokai tenkaichi. |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Jan 23 2018, 06:37 PM) Yes, I'm talking about Budokai - developed by Dimps. Budokai Tenkaichi isn't even a fighting game, no one gives a shit about that. Ah forgotten the side stepping part. It's been so long ago. All of them were 3D fighters: Proof Budokai 1 - Frieza just sidestepped left at 0:08. Proof Budokai 2 - Both Cell and Goku sidestepped left and right at the beginning of the match. Proof Budokai 3 - Goku sidestepped right at 0:23 to avoid Cell's kamehameha. I think you are mistaken about what a 2D and 3D fighter is? The older budokai looks like they age badly too. Either way, I am one of those casual players who don't really pay attention too much to these details. As long as they're fun. And as I've just paid full price for it, it better be. |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Jan 23 2018, 07:11 PM) I think it's extremely fun for the casuals. You can indeed mash buttons and get your fun out of this game, but it won't get you out of the "kids pool" to put it bluntly. I'll see how's the game when it's out in a few days time.I mean casual or not, it's essential to learn some of the very basic fundamentals of the game. Knowing how to block highs, mids and lows, learning that dragon rush spamming can be easily countered, learning how and when to teleport, these are extremely basic stuff. You don't have to learn the frame data, you don't have to understand "footsies" and you don't have to dwell with advanced strings and combos - but learning the fundamentals will prolong your fun with this game. For fighting games in general, it all depends if the "getting gud" process is fun. if they're boring to me (I've a short attention span to games these days), I'll quit within the first few hours. On first impression, it seems really good and polished. It is also the first decent looking Dragonball game in a long time. |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Apr 24 2018, 04:35 PM) Vegito blue is confirmed. Before splurging a thousand on a decent stick, it’s best to try out a cheaper one first. UI Goku is not. Most people concur that the Hori mini is a terrible stick. Too small, slides all over the place. Hopefully you'll find some fun out of it. Unless you’ve a better stick at the same price point to recommend ? |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Apr 24 2018, 04:53 PM) Nothing is cheaper than a Hori mini. The qanba drone still cost twice the hori mini. Someone is selling me a brand new Hori mini for about RM120. But a Qanba drone doesn't cost that much more - https://www.play-asia.com/qanba-drone-arcad...stick/13/70al3l Unfortunately, the Hori mini simply does not give you a proper impression of a full sized stick in any way other than the lever - which isn't even that good to begin with. Also full sized sticks don't cost a thousand. A Hori RAP V only costs RM499. At that price. My expectation will not be high and the fact that’s its small is good as well. As I don’t play fighting games frequently, so storage is easy. I’ll probably just place some rubber pads so it doesn’t move to much. I’ll take note with the RAP V. But it’s 585 here. https://www.play-asia.com/real-arcade-prov-...-4-pc/13/70api1 Where did you see it for 499? |

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Apr 24 2018, 05:35 PM) Here - https://www.facebook.com/groups/myfgc/perma...42912522515152/ 499 isn’t brand new.brand new is 600+ Welp, if you insist - go ahead. Just telling you from experience. It's the same complain every single time when someone jumps from pad to stick and they start out with the mini. Within a couple of months, they trash it (and it's not just because it's small, the lever is just subpar which leads to a lot of mis-inputs). So, up to you man. Hope you'll enjoy. There are also sticks which are 1k + Either way, I’ve teceived the hori mini and it is not bad. For those who wants to try sticks, it’s not a bad start. It’s also very inexpensive especially for those who rarely play fighting games in the first place. The only thing I don’t like is the square limiter gate. As coming from a pad, most would prefer to ride the gate. But after a few/many hadoukens, it’s something that most can get used to. |

QUOTE(hz428 @ Jun 17 2018, 09:45 PM) A rant! A lot of companies are doing this. bought the full game since day 1 BUT! why do we need to pay RM19 for just 1 new character? and subscribe PSN for online battle? Developers are exploiting end users with Lootbox and DLCs these days. I miss the older days when we have a full game which is really a FULL game. It’s just too lucrative. DB Fighter Z is actually one of the milder offenders -At least those new characters are developed after the launch of the game. Some companies lock content already developed behind a paywall (EA). - paid subscription for console online play is more on sony’s Fault than DB fighter Z developers.
