Dear Grab sifus, I would like to ask,

Would it be wise to use a brand new C class vehicle, example like Toyota Corolla Altis, Honda Civic, or Mazda 5 to do grab on a part time basic?

Assuming you just bought it brand new for office and work travelling. But thinking of using it for part time on weekends. Are you willing to use your to use it and do Grab for the extra income?

Pros and cons? Please share your opinion.

Thank you for your reply. Anyone else?

I have concern there are chances the car will be damaged over the years. Comparing to not doing Grab.

Not being fussy or nasty, by some experience
1. picking up a bangla with super strong perfume and sweating.
2. People slamming the new car door with extreme force (I can understand as last time i also habit close/slam taxi door hard coz need to close it.)
3. Customer asking to go Rawang in the middle of the night then asked to change course a bit (was worried he was going to ask me go some rural place and end up getting robbed..)
4. Potential wear and tear on the interior of the Toyota Corolla Altis

Would just like to hear the communities comments.

part time can. do when u really free and and certain time only

i drive D segment, used to drive a lots, but even since grab started to reduce incentive month by month, i cut down driving alots, but ok-lah, do when i free, drive only ard 30- to 40 trips per week, get incentive ard RM200 like that.... net fare (minus maintenance & all others) ard RM100, so extra money per week ard RM300...

Yes would like to try it. Especially after i interview so many grab drivers and did 2 days on my own. Just to get the feel. (press wrong accidently cancel trip drop rating all those nonsense for day 1. laugh.gif)

The only thing holding back was ppl keep slamming my car door and the extreme perfume. Not to be fussy, but you know la, sweat and all those on a new car.. Maybe C segment car not suitable for Grab due to long term wear and tear sad.gif

if u want to try out as an experience - Yes

if u want to earn as much as possible - No

In term of ROI suggest u better buy Perodua or Proton cars

I was thinking of doing grab too but what im concern about is the door being slam hard and the sweat or smell in the car haha.

While it might sound a bit cocky and stingy want do grab but skared damage your beautiful car, you will feel the same when you just keluar a brand new C segment car and tried Grab. Can confirm 90% will sakit hati one.

I keen on the experience of being a cab driver on weekend to see the city life. But after doing it for 3 days and look at my car, i decided to stop. I kannot stand bangla with strong perfume rubbing on the leather seat. And to be fair there are nice aunties, guys and ladies who took the ride. Not all exp are bad.

And dont do grab on Friday in KL. Jam AF and the bangla with strong perfume will have to sit in your car even longer!

I am using my New Honda HR-V to do Uber. Only do it on weekend from early morning to afternoon around 1pm. Personal opinion, the car will have problem if we only keep it without drive. So, i might as well drive and earn some petrol & maintenance fee. Sometime i met good passenger and have a good conversation with them.

By the way, i choose to cancel any trip requested by Bangla. As their smell is really not so good.

Thanks. I did on one saturday and manage to land about RM190 per day (inc incentives). Interview with some grab drivers they say per day on weekend of full day they can get about RM200-280.

Not really desperately needing the side income but RM250 average per day is quite attracting.

New Honda HRV, sampai hati ar? I day 3 already use my new car for Grab. But just cannot tahan the "imaginary" wear and tear and letting stranger sit the new car. Probably im just stingy on the new car. Need some time to let it go and use kao kao..
