SEA WARS V: THE MEHSON STRIKES BACK

'tis the tale...

battle raging as planned...just that with 5 minutes left, the rebel scum with calamari cruisers lyon, anshan and akatsuki vs the imperial star destroyers mehson, fuso, hipper and algerie.

not too bad eh, except that the rebels have 2 caps vs imperial 1...and we're down by about 100 points.

with no one wanting to push B cap...we've to send mehson at about 90% hp yoloing into B knowing 1 or 2 dds sitting there with lyon coming out of C cap.

fuso was too far away to help...

using the mehson to screen both the hipper and algerie following from behind, anshan made the mistake of coming in too close and was spotted. one salvo of mehson's HE shells sent the dd to her final destination, in exchange for 2 torps hit from a full salvo of 8...took another 40% of hp off the mehson.
of course with super healing, reduced the damage taken by quite a bit.

kept sailing up the cap, final dd also showed herself, but for a fraction of a second..was lucky that main guns have finished reloading and turret was pointing in the right direction...unleashed another HE salvo into the general direction of where dd was thought to be at, and ...voila, akatsuki sent to davy jones's locker..managed to dodge all 3 torps unloaded at the mehson this time.

algerie, with some 90%+ hp when we're pushing B cap, was sunk by the accurate shells of lyon, and we're still down by about 10 points with about 45 seconds left. in the last minute, also manage to hit lyon with 2 salvos which started fires on her too.

was turning around to engage lyon head on, however time's up..another 1 or 2 salvos would have sank her.

with 2 caps down now vs 1, those last secs gave us the win..

conclusion: HE shells OP with Mehson, doesn't even need AP rounds to violate all types of ship.

space battles play fast & furious style, 9 vs 9, game over very fast whether win or lose, most of the time usually.
earn credits faster.

seriously hard to play t8 ships to get to t9 and t10 without premium account.
draining credits all the time

that's why even after 10k random battles can only afford a single t10 ship (i'm so poor)
recently bought new semi budget pc and monitor to replace one bought in 2010 lol....
playing wows on a philips 32" monitors is satisfying (may replace with a 43" or 49" 4k sony tv if budget permits, in the next few months)

spent a bit on port slots...60++ free port slots with 160+ ships in port now

mostly play on t4-t7...sigh

just bought baltimore.
used up credits to get all her modules too

ships on to buy list...just need credits:
iowa
roon
tashkent
dmitri donskoi
saint louis

5 ships x 20 mil = 100 mil credits

t10 ships more like 27mil credits per ship.




rounding up final t9 and t10 ijn gunboat dds..wow...need more credits..lol
not to mention will be needing quite a few 19-point capitan

this in spite of having a premium account.
recently bought khabarovsk and des moines too.
gonna miss tashkent. longer shell range/ lower detection range vs khabarovsk. however, poorer turret turn speed.
des moines extremely powerful, playing run and gun style, hate island hugging one..over 200k damage, in the losing team, though ..high caliber/ dreadnought/ witherer/ arsonist in that one.
at the moment farming credits with missouri still, trying to get past quite a few T7, T8 & T9 ships..lol.

was in co-op...she managed to kill yamato at nearly full hp in a single salvo from point blank range.

played game since end of 2015..
2 1/2 years get only one free ship from an SC, lol.
it's only a gallant...i'll be very happy if they gave me something much better.

ranked battle from sometime ago.
safety in numbers? think again.

harekaze capping centre supported by chapayev.
at the further cap on the opposite side, atago was leading a procession of 4 bbs in a rather tight group.
sent a wall of 16 torps into the formation.
2 amagis and bismarck hit by 1 to 4 torps each for over 100k damage in the first 2 salvos.
harekaze coming to engage after capping..sank her with support from cruisers.
was spotted via radar and shelled by chapayev, however, managed to unleash another salvo of 8 torps which sank the third amagi, before dd was destroyed by the chapayev.

done for indianapolis marathon mission
never thought can get kraken, nearly lost...enemy more points than our team..700++ vs 400++ points with less than 5 minutes left.
after sinking new mexico and nelson, all torp bombers gone.
needed 2 rounds of trip to sink nelson, tough nut to crack...geez
sank last 3 bbs with only dive bombers in the last few minutes of game to get the win.

lol, i used to "club seals" all the time using strike Bogue. it was fun killing up to 5 ships in a good game (especially in those 1 vs 1 cv games)
i've tried AS Bogue, dealing nearly 0 damage in games..hate that kind of play. cannot influence outcome of games much.
cv dictates flow of such games, however only on t4-t5. t6 and above too many powerful AA ships.
with the removal of manual strafe and torp drop, she can't even kill a slow moving bb now. become trophy ship..sigh. gg in a game with t6 cv.

final battle of the shiratsuyu, just earned enough xp to finally research akizuki.
will definitely miss her. wouldn't be coming back to play her anytime soon. (unless she's needed to complete tasks)
