If someone would like to buy some eth and keep in myethwalley, what would be the best exchange platform ?

Just very small amount for starting since I'm guess mining is no longer profitable.

I mainly use Binance for trading altcoins.
USDT is trustable for the short-term and I convert most of my trade profits to USDT. Then I sell the USDT on Remitano for ringgit.
There are other stablecoins like USDC but at the moment they are harder to convert to ringgit.
*
Hmmmmm. I trading USDT in remitano, how does it charge 5 USDT withdrawal fee ?

QUOTE(budaita @ Apr 7 2019, 02:56 PM)
I suggest using it for convenience, but dont rely on it for long term storage.
If you really have to hold USD, then diversify different stablecoins USDT, DAI, USDC, GUSD, PAX

Thanks for the advice. Seem like we need better option other than remitano at Malaysia now.

This is normal when Bitcoin shows signs of volatility. If Bitcoin looks like it has upward volatility, people will sell alts and hold BTC. If Bitcoin looks like it has downward volatility, people will holdUSD/stablecoin to buy back lower.

Alts normally gain activity when Bitcoin has low volatility.

So seem holding at xrp will it be good choice ? Because all other tether USD is not truly USD at all. More like create from thin air just to fill in the gap.

They have different use cases. USDT is a stablecoin and is good for cashing out or preserving value in case your other altcoins drop a lot. Yes there is no guarantee that USDT won't fail, but so far it has lasted several years and should be still safe.

XRP is an altcoin but not a stablecoin and a lot of the XRP is owned and centralized by the Ripple.

Looks like market is starting to pickup or we haven't reach the bottom yet ? Btc seem trying to pickup.

Calm before storm ?

I'm wonder how some ppl trading at this remi platform. Is it using USDT to buy the coin through remi and then trading it with fiat and then repeat the cycle again and again since USDT to coin can be bought instantly during dip ?

I think it will drop to 3k for bitcoin
At the moment the price going up is surely the doing of a few rich whales
There are no reasons for it to go up after all

Quite a detail analysis report from Finance but whose know what will be happened in the future... Since everyone had saw the price could shot up to 10k USD and naturally everyone is HODL with high anticipation that it could shop up even higher before next halve.

The price seem would not drop much since everyone still feeling euphoria from last 2 April's market rally.

Binance

Binance Research Investigates Cryptoasset Cycles, Crypto Market’s “Bottom”

KEY TAKEAWAYS

Price co-movement of cryptoassets is quite high; the nascency of the cryptoasset market and the weak pricing ability of its participants has likely contributed to this phenomenon.

An estimated 7% of the cryptoassets are held by institutional investors, which is almost one-thirteenth of the institutional holdings proportion for the U.S. stock market.

Higher turnover rates for cryptoassets (five times higher than that of the U.S. stock market) indicate that participants in the crypto asset industry could be more active or reactionary than in traditional markets.

However, the “UTXO/Realized Cap” metric suggests that crypto-investors tend to "HODL" as prices drop, only becoming more active when prices recover.

Extreme internal correlation among coins is often accompanied by a price “inflection point”.

Having emerged from a period of the highest internal correlations in crypto history, the data may support the notion that the cryptomarket has already bottomed out.

Everyone seem afraid miss the boat. Everytime whenever it drop to below 5k USD, it will immediately recover within the next few minutes. Seem like everyone is selling their altcoin and ready to join in to buy Bitcoin ?

Eth, xrp etc still seem lethargy..

Let me share a story from Reddit

The Story of Crypto

There was once a village, full of many farmers and villagers who didn’t have much money or food. The biggest problem in the entire village was that there was only one food and money source, which was a giant tree in the center of the village, called the Central Bark; it was owned by the village chief who also collected regular payments for using the Central Bark. The village often issued leaves on the tree for monetary barter and fruit from the tree as sustenance for the people. The problem with this whole situation was that, the chief was the one basically creating the money while also charging for creating it, all the while devaluing the leaves that the villagers already owned. Food suddenly became hard to come by, as the chief began monopolizing the fruits for himself and those who were paying the highest Bark taxes. Needless to say, famine and hunger swept through the village like a wild fire, all the while the village chief’s belly grew fatter as he continued to indulge on the fruits along with the elites.

One day, there was a wanderer roaming around the outskirts of the village, who looked to be of Japanese-descent, and he tossed a seed over the village barrier and then disappeared in to the fog to never be seen again.

A few days later, a farmer known as Geraldo, along with a few of his farmer buddies, was walking while searching every nook and cranny of the village for scraps of food. They ended up stumbling upon a mysterious bag that had the words “MERKLE” written across it. The farmers, after inspecting the bag, realized that the object inside seemed like a seed for plants or crops and began planting them into the ground. They religiously watered it and made sure it received the proper sunlight every day, and after a few days, the plant emerged from the ground. Day by day, the plant grew bigger and bigger, starting to resemble a tree. “Wait…”, the farmers thought, “Can we make our own fruits and leaves??”. The answer soon became clear, and the other villagers grew enamored by the idea. More and more people began watering the tree, fending off dangers, and making sure it received adequate attention. Eventually, the tree was as big as the Central Bark; behold, the Merkle Tree to save all had arrived. As the fruits and leaves grew off the trees, everyone who helped plant it reaped the benefits and suddenly the famine had washed away and the one who was stuck on the outside was the village chief. Because the people who planted the new tree decided that the fruits/leaves would be the new means of exchanging good and services as well as sustenance, the village chief’s Central Bark grew obsolete and withered away.

From the merkle tree, villagers were now able to pick the fruits and use those to engage in trading for other goods, while some simply held on to them for future consumption. At the end of the day, the bottom line was that everyone in the village came together to make the Merkle Tree as great as it became, ultimately giving everyone self-sovereignty.

This whole story is one big analogy for cryptos. For a project to get as big as everyone wants, it is truly a GROUP and community effort. The sum of the whole will always be greater than individual parts. Had others never joined in to help Geraldo and showed their belief towards a freer future, the tree would’ve never been able to grow nearly as large as it did and would’ve failed to impact the whole village. The more we believe in each other and move together, the further we will move as a community. Let’s all continue to make crypto as great as it can be and keep moving forward!! (Stay tuned for the eventual sequel where people start planting more trees and saying their tree is better than the other cause it’s taller

I was thinking if eth could get wider coverage instead of Bitcoin. Application and features wise, eth should win miles ahead of Bitcoin. I'm can't think what is the usage of Bitcoin in real life other than flipping like roti canai till the price sky high
