Before you start, u need to fix your mentality, Mining = Business. And u will have overheads --> power cost, breakdown of parts, internet etc, maintenance, but this is still profitable, vs some poor chap spending 15 hours a day mending his business, with zero profit.

once you set your mind that mining = business, you can now assemble your rig. don't buy a business, u set it from scratch. The feel is just different.

Then check your budget. What is your allowable overheads to be taken into considerations.

Then further study what cards are available. I suggest Nvidia. Minimum to get is 3.

If cost is a big concern, u shouldn't run a business. Easy.

another possible scenario is that people might dump hard when the whale decide to create panic, new buyer usually give up and panic sell easily.

Asics vs GPU

1. Cost of entry
- The most power efficient Antminer S9 for bitcoin will cost anywhere between rm13k to rm18k
- GPU (Vega 56 + asrock h81 btc + ram + hdd + psu +riser +chassis) is around rm5000, u can start with 1gpu rig and add on another gpu when u have the money

2. Warranty
- Antminer only comes with 3months warranty, at least from local seller, if the box broke it will be very hard to find spareparts
- GPU / Mobo comes with 1yr/3yrs warranty

3. 2nd hand value
- Nobody will buy 2nd hand antminer without proper warranty
- High end GPU can retains at least 80% of its original price even after a year especially if u sell to gamers, with still enough warranty to cover future hardware failure

4. Upgradability
- Antminer can't be upgraded unless u are asic engineer and know the inside out of the hardware
- GPU can be upgraded, sell off the old one to gamer and buy latest hardware in the future while retaining other parts like motherboard, ram, hdd, chassis, etc

5. Type of crypto to mine
- Asic miner only mines SHA256 type of crypto
- GPU can be multi targeted, same 8x Vega56 can mine Enthereum at about 320+ MH/s, or monero at about 16 KH/s, if you know how to fine tuned it
