Hardware wallet aren't a magic bullet, getting one does not guarantee any added security if users themselves not practicing proper due diligence. Most, if not all of the security breach happen because of users. Human is the weakest link.
Phishing incident that happened yesterday are targetting myetherwallet site; they're cloning the site down to every byte and just changing a few lines of code to steal the private key, it looks exactly the same as the legit myetherwallet except for the tld. Anyone fooled by just the look of the site will have their private key stolen and their funds drained. So people, be diligent, be safe. |

Anyone knew about ethtrade? A month ago a friend who is a tech illiterate, who doesn't even remember his gmail password asked me about ethtrade. He's definitely been approached by someone. I've checked their site and it looks okay-ish, but the promise seems ponzi-ish and scam-ish. Something like invest rm70 and receive like rm4k return in a few months.
And now we have ecobit. Heard they've successfully rake some nice funds via their ico which i think ran on the nem blockchain. Now that they've hit national news with bnm blacklisting them and all, their fb page has been closed down. Their site looks amateur-ish too. This post has been edited by axxer: Jul 6 2017, 06:39 PM |

Guys, abit of advice needed
I will be doing some part time job involving crypto, and they're giving me options to either receive my compensation via ETH or via fiat wire transfer. Thoughts? Is the crypto market volatile, dangerous enough to not choose ETH? And if I'm to choose ETH, what would be the best, fastest, less troublesome exchange to liquidate them? Thanks |

QUOTE(dc_talkz @ Jul 12 2017, 02:16 AM) Could be done if ETH got something like localbitcoin. Unfortunately localethereum are still in the works. Its dangerous buying and selling crypto assets without escrow, either me as a seller or the buyer will be greedy sooner or later. |

QUOTE(I'm CEO @ Jul 12 2017, 06:35 PM) AFAIK there's no such exchange. Most people usually convert ETH to Bitcoin from Polo/bittrex then transfer Bitcoin to Luno/etc sell it for MYR. Then withdraw the money from there. Dang... No direct from any exchange then, need to convert to btc first. I've got option to either receive btc or eth. Purposedly avoiding btc because of the high transaction fee, plus the upcoming August uncertainty.Thank you good sir |
