Is there a difference if I buy a coin using USDt or BTC? If I am transferring over BTC to Binance and want to buy a coin, it's better if I just buy using BTC rather than selling BTC to USDt then buying the coin no?

BTC has a high transaction fee to transfer. change to more cheaper coin when u transferring . example xrp

Oh dang, it's much higher is it?

Then I guess the option is to: Sell BTC in Luno > Buy XRP in Luno > Transfer XRP to Binance > Sell XRP in Binance for USDt > Buy Coin using USDt.

Sounds like a lot of fees lol, but it's cheaper than just transferring BTC directly?

A lot of people prefer to buy USDT for trading because it's more stable. The price won't change much while you transfer or browse coins to buy. Whereas BTC can rise or fall $500 during the same time.

Yeah true, unfortunately Luno doesn't have USDt. So I thought of just transferring BTC straight to Binance and then directly buying the coin with BTC. So there isn't another fee incurred if I convert to USDt to buy the coin.

Why not just cashout the btc at luno and buy using p2p in binance?

That is an option but hmmm if I need to move the money by this weekend should not be possible as I think interbank GIRO doesn't work on weekends.

P2P rates in Binance as of now seems to be a premium of 3%.

I think in terms of percentage fees wise of the 2 methods:

1. Sell BTC in Luno (0.25%} > Buy XRP in Luno (0.25%) > Transfer XRP to Binance (0.03%) > Sell XRP in Binance for USDt (0.10%)

Total: 0.63% fees + Fluctuations in XRP during purchase, transfer, and sell

2. Sell BTC in Luno (0.25%) > Withdraw to Bank > Buy USDt through P2P in Binance (Approx 3.00% premium as of now, based on 4.24 seller rate in P2P)

Total fees: 3.25%

I guess method one is cheaper in terms of fees but the risk being XRP's fluctuations in price during the whole process.

Correct me if I'm wrong if anyone is familiar with moving from Luno to Binance

You had chance to sell at 0.17 last week. This was a good swing trading opportunity. This is why I’m a bearish trader.

You think it's gonna fall back all the way down again? Haha
