in terms of brain development, full maturity is reached around 26years old.

which explains why a lot of young ppl burnt their accounts trading because the mind is still not mature and weak emotional control over themselves

This is kinda true. Experienced it before, I guess as you aged you tend to control your emotions better, lost a lot when I was trading using my emotion.

Guys, kindly enlighten me for the following.

Buying AltCoin/Btc. After 2 days is no change of altcoin price with reference to USD but Btc price dropped by 50%

BTC price before: USD 10,000. Current BTC price: USD 5,000
Alt coin price before: USD 1, Current Alt Coin Price USD 1

How’s the calculation in terms of making money / losing money?
*
You have to see in sats value. You did not lose nor gain in fiat value.

Found a really good post written by someone else to share, wengherng maybe consider pinning this.

Bitcoin peaked at almost $20,000 this morning. At this point Bitcoin looks incredibly expensive and not worth investing in to many people. I'm going to share a basic trading strategy that will allow you to increase your Bitcoin holdings while lowering your Bitcoin purchase price. This is basic strategy written with beginners in mind.

Bitcoin is the #1 coin in a large market of cryptocurrencies. These other cryptocurrencies are collectively called alt coins. They have different purposes and although many of them are vaporware or scams, they hold one thing in common: they all trade against Bitcoin.

What this means is that after you purchase Bitcoin you can trade it for alt coins on one of many exchanges. When you trade for an alt coin, you should be trading for one single purpose - to increase the amount of Bitcoin you are holding. Ignore alt coin USD value - I'll explain why.

Let's do some math. Say you purchased 1 Bitcoin for $10,000. You then decide to trade .5 of your Bitcoin for stake in an altcoin, like Ethereum. Ethereum goes on a run and you end up at 100% profit, doubling your Bitcoin value. You sell your .5 BTC worth of Ethereum for 1 BTC. You now hold a total of 1.5 Bitcoins.

$10,000 divided by 1.5 = $6,666.66. By making a profitable altcoin trade, you've both increased your Bitcoin holdings and lowered your initial Bitcoin purchase price, doubly increasing your future profit potential. If you can do this consistently you'll end up in the same position as any number of smart people who bought Bitcoin years ago.

Note that this is not exactly easy to do. Outside of knowing how to read charts, there are 3 Bitcoin market conditions you need to always be aware of.

When Bitcoin is bullish and surging in USD price, alt coins tend to maintain their USD value while dropping in BTC value. At $10,000 BTC price, a $100 alt coin is worth .01 BTC (100/10,000). At $20,000 BTC price, a $100 alt coin is worth .005 BTC (100/20,000). You don't want to hold an alt coin while Bitcoin is surging even if your USD value looks the same.

When Bitcoin is bearish for an extended period and drops significantly in USD price, alt coins also tend to follow suit. If you held an alt coin in the earlier bullish scenario while Bitcoin ran from $10,000 to $20,000 you likely ended up with half your Bitcon value. When Bitcoin drops in price, this decreased BTC value compounds into decreased USD value, so you've effectively just lost money twice.

The best time for alt coin trading is when Bitcoin is ranging in a relatively flat market, neither rapidly rising or falling in price. This is when the alt coin markets take off & there are huge BTC gains to be made.

When Bitcoin is ranging you want to find an undervalued alt coin that has dumped in price and has good upside potential. Find a good position, make your trade, and protect yourself using a conditional sell order. If you can do a bunch of trades at small gains these will add up quickly and increase your Bitcoin holdings. They key here isn't to always win big, it's to win more than you lose and to protect yourself from taking big losses.

Since two of three Bitcoin market conditions are against you while trading alt coins, trades can quickly turn against you. You need to protect yourself with a conditional sell order at all times. This is basically an order that says "If my alt coin drops to price A, sell it at price B". After you first make an alt coin trade, set a conditional sell order below your purchase price, say 5-10%. As your alt coin rises move your conditional sell order up to protect your initial investment, and then continue to move it up to protect profits. If your conditional order looks like it's going to get triggered, don't lower it to avoid this. Protecting profits is smarter & safer than chasing 1,000% alt coin price pumps, that's where you get wrecked.

I've attached a picture explaining how to set a conditional sell order on Bittrex exchange (thanks Todd). https://bittrex.com

Although there are many exceptions, overall this is a solid basic approach for making Bitcoin gains & lowering your purchase price in the cryptocurrency markets. I hope you find this helpful. Good luck. ✌️

thanks will try to do some research on that. btw, do they have btc/myr price indication also as in Luno ?

Nope. They dont have. I usually pair it with Bitfinex BTC/USD, they are much more accurate for charting. LUNO's price is only very sensitive when the btc price goes up

Shorting comes with a lot of risks and is completely different with long, as you short, the value of btc has no upside, u can go until 1 million and etc
