And Hal Finney, early Bitcoin developer & cryptographer (rest in peace), also seems supportive of second layer.

There are some theories that Hal Finney was Satoshi, which explains why Satoshi has dropped off the face off the Earth.

like to check with you guys. If i withdraw my altcoins to a wallet and if i want to sell it off I have to convert to BTC or ETH right?
which also means that I have deposit back to exchange and buy BTC/ETH and deposit to Remitano/Localbitcoin to sell it off?
*
Depends on the altcoin. I bought some Litecoin directly from someone on LYN without going through an exchange.
Exchanges have added escrow protection and will lock the BTC/ETH, but they also charge fees usually for deposits/withdrawals.

if that is the case how you trade directly with the litecoin? from your ewallet to other people ewallet?
*
Yes, direct wallet to wallet after instant bank transfer.

Bought my first ETH today (from Remitano), then I transferred it to MyEtherWallet.

ETH transfers seem to be a lot faster than I expected. It appeared within a minute?! ohmy.gif

How many confirmations are needed for an ETH transaction to be considered safe though?

On Binance, it takes 30 confirmations. KuCoin is 20.
I see, that many is required...
But still it reached 20+ confirmations pretty quickly...
Quite impressed with ETH ahah

Did 2 transactions of bitcoin this afternoon.
Wasn't particularly in a hurry, but I chose the highest fee setting recommended by Ledger app (didn't even bother to find out how much transaction fee I paid......  sweat.gif  ).
Both were confirmed in less than 30 minutes, which was quite a pleasant surprise.
*
The default recommended fee for Electrum wallet is also quite high. One of these days I should try to move the slider down.

Hi, I transferred very small amount of BTC from luno to remitano two days ago. Until now it is not reflected. Anyone encountered this before?
*
Is it on the block chain? Has confirmations?

Remitano is showing "Buyer account verification required" now for all Seller adverts? Previously I remember seeing some seller adverts without that requirement.

Yup got confirmation, I realized the amount was lower than the remitano deposit network fee (was testing before actual sending of bigger amount). Could it be treated as the network fee?
*
The deposit fee is 0.0005 BTC, right? I don't know what will happen if you deposit less than that lol
Probably gone?

Buyer need to verify their account. KYC

Yeah. But I think it was optional last time.
Now every single advert I see has that message.
Just wondering if Remitano has made that the default now.

I'm done posting in /k/ when even sharing an alternative treatment eczema cream that doesn't use steroids can get attacked by lifeless trolls who spend 15 hours a day there. Now my thread that aimed to help eczema patients is ruined thanks to them spamming my thread with pages and pages of negativity. Never have I felt so angry in my life talking to them
*
/k/ is cancer. For eczema better post in Health&Fitness (as long as you're not trying to sell stuff).

You can tell who are the k-tards who sometimes post in the more serious forums like here (1-word replies, poor sentence, all short-form words).

Waiting for XRB to be added in Binance and hopefully it reaches it's historical ATH so I can add more VEN to my portfolio.
*
VEN is mooning right now, I think I may buy some also. But as a currency, it's meh. As a business platform, don't see how it beats ETH/WTC.
I don't see any actual technical merits in using it.
Honestly... if it had no big business partners, would people be interested?

Remember, we are traders and investors first and foremost... That's why we're in the finance section and not technology section of the forum. Its also why most of us ride waves of TRX/XVG/random coins for profit rather than idealism.
*
Yup, not disagreeing with you on that. That's why I also may buy VEN just purely for possible profits. tongue.gif

"LocalBitcoins wallet are now Segwit compatible. Segwit addresses start with the number 3. "

Glad to see more Segwit adoption.

VEN -> future get THOR

Actually I don't really understand how they will give out the THOR.
What if the exchange we are on doesn't support THOR? Do we have to transfer out to another account?
