QUOTE(lordzx @ Sep 5 2017, 02:37 PM) Hello guys, i am new in this and would like to buy some ETH, BTC and LTC. May i know what is the best exchange? i have read in the first page and i am still confuse. Please advise. Thanks! Use Luno or Coinhako to buy bitcoin (Remember to carry out 2 FA security using Google Authenticator or Authy). Of course you need to go through verification for Anti-Money LaunderingThen transfer to bittrex to buy altcoin. Before that, once again, you need to go through verification for AML Then transfer to your hardware walllet for highest security reason. Good luck. |

QUOTE(TheRealist @ Sep 15 2017, 06:16 PM) The title for this thread is Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies so I guess my post should be valid. Anything can be valued, as long as there is demand. Well I think I am going to sound harsh here. Currently BTC price is 3,046.82. I find that people here are so deluded. I actually see comments whereby bitcions are being said to be cheap right now. If bitcoins are cheap right now, then what about 1 year ago? How do you actually assign value to a bitcoin in the first place? How do you justify to others that bitcoin is actually worth say 10k like most of you are saying right now. I mean consider this. If I create my own coin with the exact technology like bitcoin, can I sell that coin for 10k? What really justify the price of bitcoin? The idea? The infrastructure? Etc? Have you guys actually done a survey and check it out. Compare bitcoin with say Amazon AWS? I mean let's not take the "mining" cost into consideration. After all. Does mining add to the actual value? I mean is bitcoin really a evolutionary concept? After all, for example. Someone say that bitcoin transaction is fast. But then, so is paypal, etc. People say that there is no centrality in bitcoin. But then 95% of bitcoin is being held by a few entities. So what gives. Let's compare a bitcoin with say even your own laptop. Can you say that complexity wise , your bitcoin is actually more complex then say your laptop or even your phone? It's just incredible that everything under the sun is being used to justify bitcoin. Showing how naive people really are. I guess people really do not know that prices can be manipulated. Putting money into something that is really not backed up by anything, do not have any income generating potential accept for capital gains,is just a more complex version to say gaming money, is pathetic. I mean if say bitcoin go to zero, how are you going to justify that you made a calculated judgement in the first place? I mean are you going to say that this coin is providing me with interest? Are you going to say that this coin is something tangible that I can use for my daily life. What is the physical manifestation of this. I mean come on even email which cost nothing has more utility then bitcoin. Bitcoin is nothing then just electric ledgers being passed around with people assigning value to it after all. No different actually from say somekind of medium money whereby if say I happen to hold this money, I will be blessed from the gods. It's no different from fiat actually. But at least with fiat, the money is "based" on the economy of that nation. What is bitcoin based on? Cannot help but write this because i am getting irritated by the comments here. Just need to let my steam out. And yes I created an account for this because I know people with no balls here will definitely ask the moderators to actually suspend my main account. Basicaaly diamonds, gems are just stone, why do they have value? Because there is demands and buyers have same perception. Bitcoin is valued on its blockchain, and there is demands, and mostl people have same perception there it worth that much. Before u let off the steam, please read more and be knowledgeable. The world is much complex than you think you know. |

QUOTE(noob90 @ Sep 15 2017, 10:55 PM) i think this is just a rebounce, will dip back down later, although not sure if it will go as low as 12k again or not. Judging from the past few weeks, Sunday would be the best time to buy, crossing finger this will be true. The rebounce is react to the news right? If so, I doubt there will be another news to pull the price down.https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-pric...oin-extra-month |

QUOTE(TheRealist @ Sep 16 2017, 10:32 AM) The problem is that people in lowyat in general are not civilized enough to hold a conversation with people with ideas that contradict theirs. My other account was banned just because I have dared to say something that contradicts what was being said over here. If you do not like it, why you post here? Trying to change our perspective? Sorry we do not need that. If bitcoin was so massively cheap last year why didn't you buy them. In fact if you had bought them last year, you may not even be chatting with me here. In fact you should have bought them when bitcoin first incepted. Problem is are people actually using those technologies. Most probably not. 90% of the people probably just bought bitcoin because it's sound cool, the technology looks cool and the price has been shooting up recently. As you stated, the only thing that is supporting the price is the confidence of the technology which is the decentralized nature of the coin. Well there are also many great technologies that are cheap or free for example email etc. As I mentioned previously Amazon aws is something that increases the profitability of an application but yet is not as costly as bitcoin. Just like anything else there is no reason for a technology to be expensive unless the technology provides convenience and extra profitability. So my question here is what is then preventing bitcoin from becoming zero. I mean you guys say that fiat is worth nothing. Then why would crypto which is in the end is just bits be worth so much more? Yes it's backed by blockchain but then it's only bits that's alll. Why would you want your financial transaction to be transparent in the first place. Is it not my right for outsiders not to interfere in my business?already more and more cryptocurrencies are created. So your argument that government cannot create more cryptocurrencies is moot. Cryptocurrencies are no different then a more complex version of gaming money. Your understanding of the utility of bitcoin is not even correct. Reason why I compared crrypto with laptop or phone is those 2 items represents the added value of technology. Price manipulation happens all of the time. That is why there are cartels that collude together to direct the price to a particular direction. It happens in all commodities and even finanical instruments like interest rates. You are obviously oblivious to this. You really do not know how finance work. The reason why people are willing to invest in a share that does not give dividend is because of their confidence that the company will grow and thus the price of the stock will grow with it.you are obviously blind to see that gold is being manipulated. But nvm. More like those millions just want to make a quick profit that's all. Your assumption is that there is no manipulation of prices. Hello. Anything that is subjected to exchanges can be manipulated. Hope you are not naive to not realize that when the merchants accept bitcoin they will immediately convert those bitcoins to USD. Also I believe that items that are being charged in bitcpons is going to be more expensive. |
