/k/ is cancer. For eczema better post in Health&Fitness (as long as you're not trying to sell stuff).

You can tell who are the k-tards who sometimes post in the more serious forums like here (1-word replies, poor sentence, all short-form words).
VEN is mooning right now, I think I may buy some also. But as a currency, it's meh. As a business platform, don't see how it beats ETH/WTC.
I don't see any actual technical merits in using it.
Honestly... if it had no big business partners, would people be interested?
*
In my humble opinion...

Well, for VEN's technical aspects it may be worse than ETH/WTC... But remember in business it's not about superior technology (VHS vs Betamax, Nintendo GameCube vs Sony PS2, etc), other factors might be more important.

Business connection is everything in China market... That's why I'm invested in it. Especially when Tongsan is looking like the boss of the world economy nowadays

Remember, we are traders and investors first and foremost... That's why we're in the finance section and not technology section of the forum. Its also why most of us ride waves of TRX/XVG/random coins for profit rather than idealism.

I can only agree to a certain extent. If we want to continually profit from the crypto market, it's important to keep it protected from parties who want to manipulate it (like institutional investors), and those who want to abuse it (like scam projects). It's not exactly "only profit, ignore everything else".

Fair enough, that's why I discourage newbies to stay away from XVG and TRX when they tell me "it's only few cents"

TRX I understand but what’s the issue with XVG? Is it the heavy whales manipulation?
*
multiple missed deadlines, single lead developer, shady marketing team (McAfee, XVG whale always hang out with lead dev), heavy Pump and Dump market...

not a good investment for newbies imo.

Will VEN increase? Lets wait n see

Personal opinion: VEN is still massively undervalued

No other crypto project has such big scale partnerships. PwC, DNV GL, China Tobacco, GuiAn China Government project, Renault...

Reminds me of the early days of Ethereum

Too many people are dismissing it as a "shill coin"

2 billion market cap?

That's like super undervalued. That's why we call it a dark horse

I believe the founder has something to do with Stellar too if mistaken. Its better than ripple yes, but doesnt mean its a good cryptocurrency. In the end its a fork of Ripple even though it doesnt share that much in common

You need to substantiate your claims more or else it's just FUD

Stellar is a great crypto.

Crypto investments in 2018 really boil down to real world use cases as the "dumb money" is almost all gone now with the massive blood slaughter last month.

It doesn't really matter now if a few cryptos "goes against the values of crypto" when real world adoption is increasing. That's why XRP is doing so well.

Coins like Nano are good, they have superior tech but without marketing and partnerships, they are just another alt coin waiting for a PnD. I lost 60% of value with Nano/XRB thanks to the BitGrail exit scam and God knows how long it will take to recover

Can never buy enough VEN... VEN is now 60% of my portfolio, with 20% in XLM, 15% in OMG and 5% Nano.

Not happy that Nano is so bad right now thank to BitGrail exit scam. Sigh. Wanna convert my Nano to VEN

I understand. Let me know if you change your mind!

BTW based on your earlier portfolio, you're 100% in altcoins?
You don't hodl any ETH, BTC, LTC or even NEO?
*
I don't hold BTC, ETH is my main trading pair since months ago so I do hold a little ETH.

I'm very very bullish on VEN and firmly believe it has potential to overtake almost every other coin since I'm involved in the trading and supply chain industry, the amount of partnerships they have is no joke... VEN also gonna have passive income like NEO when their main net launches, so i don't have motivation to buy expensive NEO

As a business graduate I'm all for business enterprise tokens. For currencies, there's too much regulatory barriers, even Ripple and XLM face lots of issues, frankly speaking I'm gonna give up holding currencies. Gonna sell my XLM when I can profit (right now just break even) and sell my NANO when I get back my purchasing cost.

Will still do small trades here and there to flip for profit, but my long term goal is holding 100% of business tokens.

Damn OMG is so expensive already

Not sure if it's worth it for investors at this stage, with such high price I don't think staking is profitable for small holders

Regret not buying more than 100 unit when it was USD5 .. AllnGap must be disappointed in me lol

Worst move was selling 20 OMG to ride the TRX pump, only earned 10%, ended up buying Nano at high price (above 20$). In hindsight holding OMG would have gained more.

I still have about a dozen OMG after using some of my LTC profits to buy. I think OMG is still good for long-term hodl. Vitalki Buterin and Plasma are so closely tied to the project.

agree it's good long term hold, but I was talking about buying new OMG at this price point. Not sure if it's worth it .

Few thoughts on xrp,
We see that the price of XRP is surging since yesterday probably because of rumors about COINBASE adding XRP to its trading platform.

Regardless the add on coinbase  can be true or not, my considerations regard the fact that as of now this kind of rumors have the power to affect the price,  speaking for a very limited interest of  huge investors in XRP.  This should not be as negative since it can mean once again that we are in the baby era of XRP.

However this could also mean that the world around XRP and more generally crypto is quite limited and stupid rumors (often false) determine spike and dump and that there is scarce space for real growth due to mature interest in XRP.

Crypto market operates on perceptions and rumours, it's the nature of a volatile market.

Until more projects mature and has real world use cases (OMG, VEN, other business utility tokens etc), the valuation for cryptos will be dependent on pumps and dumps.
