my ping is 130-150ms still quite tolerable. As long as you aim well it will hit. Much better hit system than other online FPS games. I guess it's because of epic's game engine, even I can play the unreal tournament without problems at USA server with 330ms ping, felt like playing LAN.
This game still cannot play, high ping for Asian server? Was planning on getting a gaming laptop to play this game but I see this thread is like dead even when this game suppose to be the hottest game currently.
they were no good ping for Singapore and malaysia . but it still manageable.......
For those who wanna play on EU or West NA.. it so easy, just change the setting and good to go. the ping is like 200 something
suprisingly, it still manageable. for those who have high speed Internet .. they could care less easily 50-100 ping
That's some good shit you're smoking. It doesn't matter how "fast" your internet is because the limitation is still the speed of light, which is why server location is of paramount importance. Ping matters a lot in fps gaming and even Fortnite, because you have to compensate for higher ping to land your shots, especially for sniper shots which don't land instantly. If your ping is too high then you can even start lagging and can see other people "teleporting" in the game. But if you're only playing the PVE-based STW and not BR then obviously ping doesn't matter at all.

There's plenty of people playing. But then again most of the other Malaysians I've met in random squads are kids/youngfags in uni, not to mention the fact that the forums are pretty dead nowadays The relatively high ping due to the server location isn't a big of a deal anymore since they nerfed double-pump, so it has less overall effect on your gameplay. It used to be pretty bad for us since people closer to the servers could just double pump us easily while we'd have a delay in switching shotguns, which is really bad for close-quarters battles since all things being equal, they'd have a massive advantage.
Update: Epic is aware of the ping issue and is working to address it for SEA players by adding servers in Singapore.
Networking Most of our regions have multiple datacenters supporting them. For example, our North America East region operates out of both Virginia and Ohio. Currently, matches are placed randomly on servers running in any datacenter within the region, which can lead to some variation in ping from one game to the next. To help with this, we’ve been working on sub-region matchmaking to allow us to route games to the datacenter in your region with the best ping for you. Once this change is live you should see much more consistent ping times across games.
Similarly, there are cases like our Asia region where players in Southeast Asia are not getting the kind of performance we’d like. Our solution is to add an additional datacenter in Singapore and use sub-region matchmaking to route you there if it would improve your ping, as long as wait times remain reasonable. When wait times grow too long, we’ll dynamically re-route you to a larger sub-region, in this case that’d be Tokyo. We think this is the best way to improve ping for the most people, without making ping worse for anyone.
Our goal is to provide the best possible quality of service everywhere in the world. We’ll continue to evaluate other areas where we can add additional data centers or new regions to improve performance for players. Some of the areas we’re investigating beyond Southeast Asia are the Middle East / Northern Africa and Russia. We’ll have more to share about our plans over the coming months.

Hopefully they add a server in Singapore, from what i know the asia server is located in Japan.Never even dare to try double pumping back in the day because of the ping.
i love the game so much

I see. Thanks for the info. Also where did you download it since I assume you are playing it on PC? It is a free game right? The pc I bought will be coming next week , hope can play it. I only have 30mbps, is this ok?

Hey dude sorry to bother you again. What to ask if you have avast & Malwarebytes antivirus with just 8gb of RAM will the game lag.
It depends on the rest of your specs. The only antivirus I have installed is Malwarebytes and I have a pretty old rig but the game works fine for me. It should run fine with 8GB since I have the same amount of RAM and I believe the game takes about ~4GB once it's launched so you won't have a lot left over for a large number of chrome/firefox tabs open at the same time but it's doable. For reference, I have an i5-4410, GTX 660 and 8GB RAM so yours should be alright as long as you didn't buy a potato.

That was awesome to watch. Nice editing and gameplay there. Yeah I just finished season 1 and 2. Got 18 for world ranking Asia for squads. I only do squads since the other modes are way too slow and campy for my liking. 800++ squad wins so if u wanna play hit me up. Nick: Enz0. I'm taking a small break right now coz chasing the leaderboard as a solo squad player who needed to invite randoms and hardly got my irl friends on was freakin hard. So happy right now but the climb to the top was unreal. If some people are worried about hackers there have been none since the 1 month i've been playing. Early on there were hackers but the anti cheat they have is very good and weeded em all out. Also some good news I heard there might be an SG server. Not sure when but some guy pinged the fortnite SG server so here's to hoping we get a low ping server.
Ping now is around 100 - 120. Not bad at all with assault rifles but shot gun fights certain fights u might lose since ping will factor in. If you use a gaming vpn u could get it to double digits I have
Have fun
Wow ranking so high. Did you get invited to join those tournament with big prize money??? Or are those tournament only for celebrity streamers like ninja??
Can someone share some shooting tips please. Just downloaded it yesterday and it was a culture shock after playing the whole day yesterday and I could not even get a kill. It like I hardly do any damage to opponent but opponent can kill me within few seconds
Before this I was playing pubg. Every game I can get the worst 2 kills. But fortnite I can't even do damage to opponent.

Hey bro Kasi some tips man. I been playing for 3 days and I lose all my 1v1 with somebody. It's like I do so little damage to them even when I shoot then when my cursor is on target with them. The weapons I use are from blue color and up.

If you're new then Solo mode is a pretty bad way to learn the game since you'd get your ass stomped all the fucking time until you figure out how it all works It's better to play 50v50 or Squads or you could do Playground mode to learn how to build/use certain weapons. Fortnite is a pretty shitty shooter game since they have a lot of bullshit like "bloom" (the faster you fire, the more spread out your shots are), fall-off (certain bullet types do less damage the farther out they land) and RNG for shotgun shell spreads which is how you get 9 damage when you shoot point-blank with a shotgun... It's mostly about the building/strategy. There's weapons that work best in every range like for example:
Shotguns - Only good for Short-range SMGs - Good at Short-Medium range Rifles - Good at Medium-Long range Snipers - Best at Long range but there's bullet travel time so you need to "lead" your targets by shooting where they'll be when your shot lands rather than where they currently are and the bullet also curves downwards so you need to aim above where they're at. The distance also factors into the "lead time" needed. There's some guides that you can google to see the optimal targeting.
The rarity of the weapon also plays a factor in damage, accuracy and bloom mitigation (i.e. - Gold Scar is way better than Gray Assault Rifle). Though if you're good at aiming to begin with then you're like 80% of the way there already, you just need to learn the game mechanics and you're set.

lol thanks for taking the time to reply me. I do watch ninja and tfue quit often and I see them able to kill people at a distance so easily... Also do you need those gaming mouse with 6 buttons on them to be able keep up? Bcs I see the speed of some people is rediculous. Like I just build a wall and ramp but at the same time a enemy managed to build a building over me to trap me in.lol

I mean it helps but you don't really need it unless you intend to go full tryhard. But you should rebind the building keys to something that's more comfortable for you. Those two aren't that good at building (in comparison to other top players) but they have good aim so they tend to wipe out randoms they encounter. When you hit most of your shots it's not hard to kill people. The really good builders are streamers like Nick Eh 30: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCt9nYeSz90lnOnaVFjxFJzw. He has insane building and editing skills.

Thanks dude for the advise. Will check that channel out.
We mentioned in the August State of Development blog that we’ve been working towards adding sub-region matchmaking. We’ve just enabled this feature for the Southeast Asian region. Follow the link above for all the technical details and read more below for additional information.
What’s sub-region matchmaking?
This is a new feature we’ve implemented that will find the data-centers that are available in your region, determine which one provides you the healthiest connection, then place you in a queue that is pinged to that location to give you the best available connection. Depending on your location, players will experience varying improvements to their ping and other network related performance.
When will this feature be implemented?
As of today, September 10, we have launched the Singapore data-center and implemented the logic that allows for sub-region matchmaking. While Asia will be the first region to receive this, we plan on enabling this matchmaking process worldwide in the future.
