Therefore, good works follow salvation; they do not precede it. <--- Another problem with this argument against Grace is lack of patience towards others.

Bible clearly tells us never to judge anyone because it is God who works in the life of the Christian to change. We need to give people time to grow and how do we really know what goes on in the life of a person?

Yet some people demand this as qualification. Again the irony of such demand that equates to contradiction.

As much as someone who said about something going unchallenged and calls something he clearly doesn't understand as heresy, it can go both ways.

When that other person is challenged back, he start to go.. Well Well Well ....

Oh Well.

You cannot lose as a believer!

Romans 5:20 (WEB - World English Bible) - The law came in besides, that the trespass might abound; but where sin abounded, grace abounded more exceedingly;

From overall Bible perspective, from beginning to end from Genesis to Revelation, what God the Father has done for people who believe in Him is glorious worthy of the Lord!

Our Lord has setup a mechanism where in a way the believer actually cannot lose! For the believer, you are covered in all areas, even in the areas of the weakness. We tell sinners, the reason why there is a separation between the sinner and God is because of sin. We make mention that God has turned away from the sinner based on

Isaiah 59:2 (NIV)
But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.

That is correct....for people who never knew God and is lost.

However for the believer, we have a New Covenant from God who made the promise..Even when you Fall, there is a covering that is design to bounce you back to God. (See and understand the Heart of God, He never wants you to be down, out or separated.)

The essence of God's word is design to build you up, more over your Faith. So if today, you see any writings that is design to put doubt towards God or Salvation,.understand that it is not of God. God wants you to have Faith in Him, not otherwise. I counsel you...if it's something that is NOT supported by scripture then you need to watch out because it's worldly wisdom.

What is this mechanism? Apostle Paul wrote it as

"where sin increased, grace increased all the more" in Romans 5:20. Notice the portion difference. What this means is that, Today even when you have failed, you can approach God's throne of Grace and obtain "GRACE" in a MUCH more portion over the area where you fall.

Do you see this?

Grace abounded much more! I repeat....IT IS MUCH MORE than the sin. One more time " IT IS MUCH MORE HYPER ABOUNDED OVER INCREASED" in portion of ..."GRACE".

If you will receive this Grace every single time you've failed, YOU CANNOT LOSE! You will always be close and tight with God

God Bless

Don't stop there. Stopping there will be short of the whole perspective as Hyper grace preachers says ' you can sin in future, no problem"

But Paul says

6 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Go. Sin No MORE.
*
Don't worry...... the whole point of all the devotions is to get out of the bondage of sin. It has always been.

Don't give up

Philippians 3:12-13 (NIV) - 12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been perfected, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have laid hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,

Those who have been consistently living the Godly Life, praise God for you.
Those who may have failed, Don't give up. Remember God's Grace..... where sin increase, his grace which is in higher proportion is there for you to receive so that you can move on. (Romans 5:20 ) God does not want you to be down and out, God has provided this for you to stand up and move on, fighting the good fight of Faith, living the Godly Life.

God Bless.

Alright guys...you know I have no problem with Yeeck, Jedi you're my Bro in Christ.

In the past we all have conflicts and y'all know that Sylar and Me may not agree in theology but I think we need to stop throwing scripture verse at each other.

Especially the "Not everybody who calls Lord Lord will be saved" verse. I really do think we have no right to judge anyone, not any pastors, not any christians.

Who is a real Christian Who is not. That is not for us to decide. Everyone have their phase in life...some have mature, some have advanced, some still have some way to go.

Chill guys. Keep Calm and read a bible. smile.gif

Having No consciousness of the guilt of sin

Hebrews 10:1-3 (NIV) - 1 The Law is only a shadow of the good things to come, not the realities themselves. It can never, by the same sacrifices offered year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. 2 If it could, would not the offerings have ceased? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all and would no longer feel the guilt of their sins. 3 Instead, those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins,…

The Law is only the shadow...to understand this, look at your own shadow, it is not full essence of yourself though it's part of you. Ask yourself..how much is your shadow the full essence of you? Does it have the capacity to think for you, have the ability to vocalize what you want to say? Shadows are silent isn't it? Same concept of what scripture is trying to say. The Law is also not the reality. Do you see that? Sometime I wished people will just read this portion.

That is why..many times I've repeated this:

The meaning of the law being only a shadow and not the reality is that it was never given by God with the intention to make you holy. Neither was it given to justify you. It's not the reality that is able to. So why do you keep harping on making the law a focus for those who fight against and is anti God's Grace?

Interestingly, if you're careful to dissect and understand what Hebrews 10, verse 1 to 3 is saying. In the next verse, it gives a more opposing view. Despite of the yearly practices of adhering to the Laws of God, it cannot cause the believer to come close to worshiping God. Do you see that?

NOW. What I really want to bring to your attention is verse 2.

Read it:

2 If it could, would not the offerings have ceased? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all and would no longer feel the guilt of their sins.

The Law cannot cleanse once and for all your sins. Neither can it once and for all gives you the freedom from the guilt of sin. but the Christ Finished Work can. His Blood Can. His grace Can!
If you can fully grasp this part of the verse. Under God's new covenant, it is not the matter of your obedience to God's law that gives you the freedom from the guilt of sin. Many Christians reason like this:

Because I didn't sin through my performance, by the same reason I get to avoid the guilt of sin. No my Friend that is where we all have missed. We reason THAT way in error because it's our thinking. It is not God's way.

Scripture Truth (God's way) tells us...the only reason we can have no consciousness of the guilt of sin is because of the blood of Christ. Hebrews 10:2 nails it.
It is not the law meaning, not your obedience that merits it.

Verse 3 makes it worse. Law is in a way a reminder of sins. It is Anti to what God wants you to have: No consciousness of sin by the blood of Christ. So if you keep harping on God's Law, no wonder in some Christian circle they teach that you need to keep on having a consciousness of your sins. The more you have it, the more you end up sinning. It's a vicious cycle.

UW, where do you get this idea, the more sin consciousness you have, it will cause more sinning? Read Romans 7:19, what do you think stirs up sin? Answer lies in 1 Corinthians 15:56.

UW, what about the verse; 1 john 1:8 (NIV) - If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. Read the very beginning of 1 John 1..Who was John addressing to? He was trying to reach out to the Jews who rejected Christ, that Jesus is God in the Flesh. If you turn to 1 John 2, you see that Apostle John was then turning to a different crowd by saying: My Dear Children. And what did the verse say?

1 John 2:1 (NIV) - I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

Do you see the tone changed in the way sin was addressed? To the Jews, if you claim to be without sin, we lie. To the believer; if anybody does sin, we have an advocate...See the difference?

So dear friends..Do not allow anyone to shortchange you or put unnecessary fear by the abused of scripture verse. Understand the essence of Hebrews 10:2..God wants you to have No Consciousness of the Guilt of sin. Why? Because Christ paid a heavy price for you. To keep on having a consciousness of sin is to negate what Christ did for you at the cross.

UW. what about my imperfect acts? My friend, God already knew all your imperfect acts that you have committed and will ever commit. God is not going to be surprised, neither did He stop Christ from going to the cross despite knowing in advance ALL" your acts of future rebellion. Hold on to your Faith in Christ who is your Savior. You will be change step by step as long as you stay in his love.

God Bless.

Yup the answer is:

righteous one shall live by faith. That was the end solution.

Faith in what exactly? Answer is; Faith in Christ. Not Faith in your own performance.

lol.

ps: "sinning deliberately" referring to going back to Judaism, rejecting Christ as the way to God; for those who don't know.

lol, the judging has started. People who don't know you target you and victimize you, using scripture to intimidate when only God alone has that right.

Some people want to play the role of God.

BTW, what is the way of Balaam as mention in the passage? Balaam wanted to curse people of God. But God wanted blessings on them, That was the error.

And also the idea of adultery, insatiable for sin, people in here knows that I teach no such thing.

Do not follow the ways of Balaam of having hatred towards God's people and only wants the worse for them. <--- Key. Such could be false prophet.

Edit: If you read 2 Peter 1, how it was narrated:

For we did not follow cleverly devised stories about Jesus 2nd coming. And how in 2 Peter 2, the phrase:

2 Peter 2 (NIV) - 1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves

In both exposition, it means that there false prophets who deny Jesus 2nd coming and deny Jesus is the sovereign God. That is the context of false prophet.

UW, what about the acts of sin, mention in between? Well, you follow my devotions long enough, you will know ALL the devotions were shared for the purpose of getting closer to Christ and to get out of sin.

For those who knows me, Thanks you guys for your friendship. Those who don't and keeps on attacking me, I pray for God to change your heart of stone to a heart of flesh. (Empty Religion who makes clanging noise [Bunyi BISING aje] but lack of love)

God Bless. icon_rolleyes.gif

Debunking "Sinning Willfully" and "Not everyone who calls me Lord Lord"

Morning Fellow believers.

These 2 phrase are the most abused scripture verse use to attack other fellow believers. Doing so is tantamount to judging others weaknesses or flaws because these verses talks about the supposedly "Acts of sinning" predominantly.

Bible tells us, never to judge one another, Jesus forbid it because everyone is on equal ground when it comes to the matter righteous...We are all unrighteous. To judge another fellow believer means that the one who judges has elevated himself qualified to be God. That is egoistic pride. There is a place for judging and it is legit in the Bible but it is one of internal discernment, never as one to be use to lash out at others. Doing so tantamount to acts of being self righteous.

Anyway, that is not the main thing I want to bring to you today. What I want to share today:

I want to "clearly" show you how the phrase "sinning willfully" is not referring to acts of disobedience as how it's commonly interpreted in ignorance. Look at the entire passage below.

Sinning Willfully

Hebrews 10:26-39 (NIV)

26If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”d and again, “The Lord will judge his people.”e 31It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

*32Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you endured in a great conflict full of suffering. 33Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated. 34You suffered along with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions. 35So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.

36You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. 37For,

“In just a little while,
he who is coming will come
and will not delay.”f
38And, “But my righteousg one will live by faith.
And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.”h

39But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Look at the bold part*. That is the context. In this part, scripture is asking the believer to "remember" When he/she endured great conflicts of suffering, being jailed, etc and goes on to mention insults and persecution. What are these in context of? Answer is: The believing Jews of that time were persecuted by the religious authorities and the pharisees (remember Saul?) Why? Because they wanted these believers to give up the so called new religion of that time. They call it "The way"....I believe it was in reference to Jesus saying He is the way, The truth and the Life to God the Father.

This sinning willfully means One who had received and was preached the Gospel and even accepted Jesus being the messiah but because of persecution, turn back to his former religion. In the context of Bible time, going back to Judaism. THAT is when the meaning "no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God....and the phrase "Trampling the son of God underfoot" makes a lot of sense. It is not referring to disobeying the 10 commandments.

*The examples given are meant to explain the context. So don't ever allow some religious ignorant to abuse this portion of scripture on you ever again.

================================================================================================================

Now we move to the next one.

Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven

Matthew 7:21-22 (NIV) - 21 Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’…

The Key is in the Bold, "On that Day". Question to ask is, what day is that? In short, Mathew 7:21-23 does not expound in detail. Where can we find in the Bible that narrates more Where God will say "I Never knew you".

Before we proceed, I just want to bring to your attention 2 matters.
One, We all can agree that God is not a Man that He will lie, Yes? And we also can agree that God is not Man, He reacts as Man does, yes? So If say a person has accepted the Lord Jesus Christ but say has been living a losing life of being defeated....Can God say, He never knew the person? In the Book of Revelation, remember the Church that fell and Christ said, I know your works? How can God know the church that fell and yet can deny knowing the believer who may fell here and there? There is no consistency in this rationality. God will definitely know the person but can say He also know his works is on the losing ground. For God to deny knowing the person equates to God not saying something true. Ok that is one. Keep that in mind.

Secondly Will God leave the person who read his word clueless? I mean, just mere mention of "but only he who does the will of My Father in heaven" but not revealing what is the will of the Father. Does God ever do that? Answer is No. without context, anyone can abuse this verse to put fear into others. I will openly show by scripture verse what is the will of Father.

Answer is here.

John 6:40 ( NIV) - For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day."

Do you see that? So rest and breath easy, again I must remind the reader do not allow religious ignorant who don't even practice his own religion to ruin your Faith. Such are called "Faith Wreckers".

Now I will show you where in the Bible; the phrase "I Never knew you" is expound in more detail. You will find it in the entire passage of Matthew 25. But in order to understand Matthew 25, you need to first read and understand Matthew 24. I know it's too long to read but please do read. Because when you do, you will begin to understand it's talking about the dispensation of the Era "After the rapture".

It's very very likely referring to the time of Tribulation where after all the believers have been rapture up, the people left behind on earth will panic, seeing that Christ is indeed God and Lord Almighty. THAT IS WHEN those who have rejected Christ will out of desperation say things like:

Lord did we not <insert> do this or do that in your name...to appease God. These are never believers but because of desperation.........and it will be too late. THEN the phrase "I NEVER KNEW YOU" will come into place makes more bible sense. God cannot lie.

There you have it folk. Every time there is a repeat of such scripture, remember this devotion.

God Bless.

If one were to sin willfully and at the same time the person cannot be redeemable no matter what according to the passage...then everyone will disqualify because every Christian would have sinned willfully in his/her lifetime. That is a problem if you link the meaning as acts of disobedience against God's Law.

It would make scriptural sense, if you look at what Bible say in Hebrews 10 (verse 32 to 35), then you will see the context has to do with leaving the Faith completely...whether it's apostasy or going back to former religion, still points to leaving the christian faith. (That is the meaning of sinning willfully)

From our reasoning, we will automatically think of acts of disobedience naturally and it sounds related BUT if in THAT passage (Hebrews 10) it does not say anything about transgressing against God's law but "WE" interpreted it as what "we think" as someone suggested to think for one self and make "own" conclusion, then it can be the problem of interpretation of oneself. You must remember Bible was not written in English train of thought.

Anyway the whole point of the latest devotion shared is to dismantled fear and unnecessary condemnation. The Lord wants you to know that. Christ has paid the price, and it's divine receipt for your salvation.

When it comes to Israel State Nation, what do you think about them and the conflict with Palestine?

God made a covenant with both Abraham and also Jacob(Israel) that He will bless those who bless him and his descendents and curse whoever that curse him and his descendents
How do you feel the above Covenant from God to Abraham and Jacob in today modern world? How relevant is this on the conflict with Palestine?
*
Hey Bro...I personally think God's covenant with them still stands.

Though it's sad it affected Palestine but throughout history, God has demonstrated Himself through the nation of Israel as evidence, otherwise people would not believe which God. I think I've said enough for one to think about this because every country, even predominantly, Palestine has their own god.

What proof do you have that Jesus was the Messiah?
by Jews for Jesus | Feb 8, 2018
For one who has already made up his or her mind that Jesus is not the Messiah, no amount of evidence will be convincing. But for those who are honest in asking, the evidence speaks for itself.
The idea of a Messiah comes from the Hebrew Bible.
Imagine looking up a friend by first locating his country. That would not be enough information, so you would need to ascertain his city, street, and specific street number. It would also help if you had a phone number and when he would be home.

Similarly, the Bible tells us the “ID” of the Messiah. His ethnic background, place of birth, the timeframe of his arrival and other identifying characteristics are given. These “credentials” enable us to identify the Messiah and to recognize imposters.

What are some of the credentials of the Messiah?
Only a few can be listed below; there are many others. Early Rabbis recognized all of these passages as referring to the Messiah.

Messiah was to be born at Bethlehem: Micah 5:2 (Micah 5:1 in Hebrew Bible)
Messiah would be from the tribe of Judah: Genesis 49:10
Messiah would present himself by riding on an ass: Zechariah 9:9
Messiah would be tortured to death: Psalm 22:1-31
Messiah would arrive before the destruction of the Second Temple: Daniel 9:24-27
Messiah’s life would match a particular description, including suffering, silence at his arrest and trial, death and burial in a rich man’s tomb, and resurrection: Isaiah 52:13-53:12

The situation there is complicated as there are genuine Christians in both Palestine and Israel but from scripture perspective, you are right. God has a cut the deal with Israel and not Palestine.

Palestine do have state? And Palestine is the one that always started the attack on Israel also if the Arab and Muslim countries so cared about Palestine why not welcome them to their country? Remember yom kippur war? Six countries come and attack Israel from all side who win in the end? Israel is the winner.

There's a verse in the Bible that saying If God is with us who can goes against us? Whatever thing is happening in West Bank today is God work, remember during Israel captivity in Egypt? Despite many miracle and curse God had caused on Egypt the pharaoh heart is still hardened until his first born son and every male first born belong to Egyptian from citizens to their livestock deaf.

There's also alot of Palestinian staying in Jerusalem they all said they are treated well by the government and the peoples of Israel. This means those who bless you will be blessed by God  if you still can't understand this simple thing this prove that your heart is as hard as pharaoh. God command is obsolete, God is beginning and the end

There is such a thing as theologians educated in Christian Faith but they don't believe in Jesus Christ. Likewise there could be people who are here to argue from academic POV but don't subscribe to the supernatural truth of the Bible.

Ah comprehension problem. As expected. Either that or twisting what people didn't say.

Christian asking to curse another person vs people trying to explain to him, there is a curse.

As also as expected, don't dare to reveal whether he's a christian, my best bet will never dare to reveal.

Hi, just passing by here......

You said that Matthew 7:21-23 "does not expound in detail", but you only quoted verses 21 & 22!

That's why you did not get the "missing detail".

Most importantly, you should have also quoted verse 23, which says :

"And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ " - ESV

"And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." - KJV

Lawlessness & iniquity basically mean the same thing : sin, immorality, wickedness

Reading v21-23 that way, you will understand that it actually does expound in detail
& informs you specifically what the Father's will is.
Now, lets move backwards & establish to whom verses 21 & 22 are directed at.

Contrary to what you said, "On that day" is NOT the key.

Instead, the key, is in the "types of miracles" performed, that will identify who these group of people are.
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ " - v 21 - 22

Notice then, that verse 22 says,

- prophesy in your name
- cast out demons in your name
- do many mighty works in your name

Whose name? Jesus's name of course! Why?

Because the non-believer has no authority to cast out demons! Non-believers, who do not even confess Christ as their Lord,  will never say, "In Jesus's name, i command you evil spirit to leave!"  laugh.gif

refer to  Strong's #1411 - δύναμις the word - dunameis : power for performing miracles

if you have any doubt, this word is always used exclusively to refer to the power of the Almighty.
also refer to Strong's Greek #1140 - δαιμόνια the word - daimonion: an evil spirit, a demon

Therefore, verses 21 & 22 leave no doubt that these are Christian believers. And verse 23 is the warning/condition cited here.
It is the Lord effectively warning Christians in no uncertain terms, that if they are, using your own words,

/continue living in sinfulness, they will not enter Heaven.

If you believe and call Jesus, "Lord, Lord", you are still lost if you have not done what God says.  If we are not obeying God, we are practicing lawlessness

If we ever hope to go to heaven, we must do the will of the Father.  This is the only way.  Not the will of men, but God’s will. Not our own will, but God’s will.  Just because we call Jesus our Lord, this will not save us.

Quoting John 6:40 in isolation, disregards many of the other verses & therefore distorts the full meaning of the "Father's Will".
Matthew 28:20, “Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you.”

See also, 1 John 2:4, "He who says, I know Him, and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him."
Finally, it is generally understood, that "on that day” means "the last day" or "the day of judgment". This is the Great White throne judgement of the unsaved.

Not like how you put it, as in the period of the tribulation. That would be stretching it.

If they are Christians who has authority to cast out demons, why should demons submit to such Christians who works lawlessness as you have said? As far as scripture tells us..Even Demons recognize who belongs to God and who doesn't

Sorry but I don't see your point there.
