Definitely BHP or Caltex. Smooth ride, responsive, good power and more mileages. BHP for their German additives. Caltex for their cleaning agent (Techron). Have tried Petronas (get free gift card), very rough noise, mileage still fine with it.

One of my rides is a SSS with stock high compression engine. I prefer to fill her up with Caltex Techron which offers best performance. Bhp 97 has better fuel consumption though.

Better fuel consumption doesnt mean better raw power or better engine care, hence my vote goes for shell v power ron97

I always hear people say Caltex and BHP are the best for performance and fuel consumption, which I haven't tested out coz for me the problem is its quite difficult to find their stations. I end up using Petron as it has pretty ok reviews, and it feels better than Petronas (I've only ever tested Petron, Petronas and Shell), and the stations are everywhere.
There used to be a BHP just out the turn to Midvalley......taken over by Petron, and there used to be a Caltex in Brickfields (where i live)......guess what, taken over by Petron........

i used ron97 on my old 2005 lmst.
Caltex pickup is ok but high mileage i managed to do 320km on 40litre 100% city
BHP pickup damn good but low mileage. I managed to get 312km only on 80% city 20% highway

QUOTE(IsoBell @ Jul 12 2018, 02:26 PM) Well for me in East Malaysia the only choice that I have is between either Shell or Petronas, no BHP or Caltex available here haha. Personally tried both but can't really see the difference hmm, might need others' opinion to enlighten me. Fuels are 99% the same. Top Tier fuels like Shell and Caltex are “better” at keeping your engine cleaner. https://www.toptiergas.com/Anyone saying Fuel XX is much smoother. Or Fuel Y can get more mileage either measured wrongly, or used too small of a sample size. Fuels are 99% the same.

Using Petron Blze 95. Love it because its outstanding fuel efficiency

QUOTE(WilliamTH97 @ Jul 12 2018, 02:47 PM) Well but then the difference between them do exists right? Some people do feel that their car can perform better using a specific type of petrol compared to the others and they would stick to it for many years to come, maybe there are some differences in the chemical composition which result in this. Yes, 1% difference is maximum. 0-100km/h in 10.5s for a Vios on the best fuel. And 10.6s on the wrong fuel. But to some, 1% is a lot of difference

Here in Sabah only got Shell/Petron/Petronas, Shell new Ron97 better pickup bonus comes with dynaflex, pickup can't feel the difference/ pair with petron ron97, I don't trust Petronas products. Ron 97 can see the difference in term of pickup and fuel economy, Ron 95 is rubbish quality fuel, use Ron 97 in backup transport for Axia, motobike and other gasoline base engine machinery. But mostly use Euro 5 Diesel on my primary transport.
