Actually most Samsung have front FP sensor embed in homebutton. Except S8 and s8 plus only they move the finger print to the back due to cannot solve the touch ID embed under a clear surface problem yet. If the latest rumours are true Apple solved it in time for Iphone 8 . So Note 8 or S9 will have it in front again. Only stubborn Samsung still put it at the back at worst off in a very ugly position.

Front is actually mOre suitable. I also seldom use the thumb print function when using S8 , use pass code instead because not convenient to use.
