Called 123 and they say the SMS is not charged to me. Will wait for my monthly bill to see if this is true. I`m keeping ALL my SMSes to check my bills. The next time I get hit, I`ll probably switch to another telco since this issue seems to affect only Maxis and Celcom.

Maxis better do some damage control. It's kind of tiring that we need to constantly check our bills every month to see whether we had been unwittingly charged for unsolicted services.

I am considering to switch to digi also

They recently keep on send to me. Although I last year block them before. This time, they send to me, I block. BUT, they use another number to send to me. To my surprise, they have lots of 5 digits number. You can go to hotlink homepage and search for it.

I got pissed off, I got the info and called them up. Screwed them gao gao. They promise to refund me in two days. But, they didn't, and since I am so busy, I think I will only screw them up again for my refund on next monday

i suggest you to report directly to MCMC, Last time when i work for content provider company, our client accidentaly charge the customer and let the mcmc know it, bcoz of small amount our shortcode(5 digit account) and all other account liases with all telco (maxis, digi, celcom) being suspend until the problem being resolved.
After i quit that company, and 5month later i receive an sms from 39898, another local listed CP company charge me for RM2, without 2nd though, i email got the company email and send them a complain, together with another email to MCMC regrading the mischarge.
A week later i receive called from maxis about helping me to barred that company from future sms spam, almost a month later i receive an fund transfer from unknown company for RM2. During that period, i got check their shortcode, its not suspend at all. Is maxis/mcmc scare of local listed company?

call 123 maxis for rebate, they will rebate back for you.

write in to MCMC and cc the letter to maxis and also Macrokiosk.

I know the internal story of this scam. Digi is not affected because they are very strict, once a company is found to spam their customers, their entire line of shortcode will be banned indefinitely.

maxis has their hands on this too. they profit from it indirectly.

and yeah, DiGi for me too next! That yellow thing is annoying but i tell you, the angmo knows how to run their business properly.
