Which is how you know it is real.. fake leather does not crack. You have to oil it constantly.. remember it's some animal's skin. Just like your skin, if you don't clean it and moisturise it often, it will peel and crack.

Once it cracks there's nothing much you can do. Shoe shops might sell leather conditioner that you can use to make the leather less stiff and prevent further cracking, but once it cracks it's cracked for good. Skin while alive can repair itself when it cracks, but dead skin can't so if you allow it to dry out and crack.. it's cracked for life
