again i insist on this: if u wan a quiet fan...Winstorm is definitely not d1 for u.... sad.gif

but if performance is wat u seek...juz go 4 windstorm  flex.gif
+80mm is very common...most desktop case can fix in...  sweat.gif

haha...i wont change my mind...will definitely go get 1...hopefully got stocks...as i've been told its selling like hotcakes!!! shocking.gif

Well 120mm fan is also very common nowdays unless you use some cheapo casing which dont support 120mm fan. And if you dont even care bout noise, there are even better blower in 120mm category with higher cfm as compare to 80mm

i speak 4 d mass....including ppl with 'cheapo' cases... rclxms.gif kiddin kiddin

but seriously..if 1 chooses 2 use windstorm 80/92mm..i think it'll b better 2use it 2sucking in air to cool down d stuff inside ur case, rather than as exhaust fan lor...a combination with a 120mm fan @d rear 4 blowing out hot air would work perfectly dun u think rclxm9.gif

hey, u speak of other blower...such as???? hmm.gif

post d info & share it ma...so we can compare compare icon_idea.gif

ooh...quite a standard combination la nod.gif

wat brand uv led fan u using? cuz tat day i juz compared Vizo with CM...priced about d same... but Vizo's 80mm fan has 2900 RPM & air flow is 36 CFM....which is higher (CM's 1800 RPM & 22.84CFM) icon_idea.gif
i think tatz y CM claim their fan is SILENT....cuz lower fan speed (rpm) =sure lower dBA..but of course, lower air flow s well >>> lower cooling capability....

Spider Filter Fan. I think I saw this 120mm fan before in All IT. From spec it stated at 80cfm with 25dba, which already better than the vizo which you stated in your earlier post, 81+ cfm with 50+dba. Air flow wise not much difference but noise level is hell lot difference. Anyway this is just some cheapo 120mm case fan available in the market. Below are some 120mm with provide identical air flow, but at a much lower noise level

AeroCool Extreme Turbine 89CFM 33DBA
Aluminium Case Fan 79CFM 36DBA
Sunnon 120mm 90CFM 45DBA
Panaflo 120mm 115CFM 46DBA

I think I had already mentioned at earlier post where using a 120mm fan is better as when comparing to a 80mm noisy blower.

hmmm...the ram cooler for this vizo seems to have weird design. by clippin on the ram itself. LOL...but it gives good cooling. wonder how much does this thing cost? armada or something...

i don't understand why vizo called it as a case fan. it's more suitable to be a replacement cpu fan cause of the focus-flow like static blades, thus no dead spot in the middle of the fan, which is also usually the hottest spot on a processor heatsink. u don't need the static blades and focussed air flow for case fan, and the static fins might actually contribute to more noise and lesser airflow, not a good choice to use the vizo as case fans.

and hybrid monster, u mentioned that u compared the vizo and vantec tornado, did u compare them physically or u just compare based on specs?

i'm currently using vantec tornado running @ 5V to cool my processor, virtually silent and still pushes quite some amount of air, and certainly perform better than normal 8cm fans. have another delta focus flow 8cm and another delta 12cm 120cfm case fan lying there..

hey there,

Vizo call it a case fan cuz IT IS a case fan!!! icon_idea.gif
ok ok...u said itz better off as a cpu fan...i AGREE also...tatz y u can notice (check from d net) tat lotsa ppl oversea r modding it 2 become a cooler 4 their CPU... blush.gif

haha..i've actually compared both specs & physically (found a fren with both)..but accuracy dunno 100% or not la as d Tornade oredi aged & Windstorm brand-new laugh.gif almost similar performance rolleyes.gif

but noise lvl-wise...u said Tornado is VIRTUALLY SILENT????? u sure bro? hmm.gif

here's Tornado's specs (& Vizo's s well...)

http://www.vantecusa.com/p_td_8038h.html
http://vizo.com.tw/index.php?main_page=viz...ucts_id=8&tab=1

as far as i know...all motorized fans...wat-so-ever-fans tat is...r running on 12V...
u said ur Tornado runs @ 5V...how le? teach us la sifu... blink.gif

& 5V r mainly for powering those IC on circuit boards... even our processor fans run on 12V...
(another example would b our HDD..if u check it out..u'll find tat it runs @ 5V & 12V..where STILL the 5V is meant 4 the IC while 12V are 4 d motor... brows.gif )

by default, it is running @ 12v.
other than the default 12V, u can choose to run @ 7V or 5V.
for 7V, connect the fan's red wire to +12V(yellow) and the black to +5V(red).
for 5V, connect the fan's red wire to +5V(red) and the black to ground(black).

running at lower voltage will give u less airflow, and of course lower noise, but before u try any of these mods, make sure u know what u are doing, i bear no responsibilities for any damage that u might cause to your own PC.

all my fans are running on 5v to reduce noise cause now getting older, cannot stand the vacuum-cleaner-like noise of all the fans running in my PC.. previously when i'm crazy in all these stuffs, i bought a dedicated 12v/14v selectable PSU to power just my fans. see photos of my pc 3 years ago..

now still using the same PC, minus the extra PSU on top, and the delta fan on PSU cause i changed my PSU to enermax liberty, dun wanna void the 5 years warranty, so no modding on the PSU now.. tongue.gif
