Bosch's 18V circular saw too expensive.
Makita has many other interesting tools like grass cutter, fan, even a cordless trim router(future).

So I think using 2 system to have more flexibility of tools.

Bosch GKS 18VLi costs rm900+, Makita's circular saw costs rm600.
Bosch GST 18V costs rm1300+, Makita 18v jigsaw costs rm800.
Bosch's drill generally are cheaper than Makita tho...

Makita has more "toys" to play with, the price difference already enough justification to cover another battery set.

Also, seems like Makita & Bosch is same grade of tool quality?
*
indeed makita has more cordless tools range...and mostly updated to brushless for most of it's tools unlike bosch took ages to update to brushless.... mad.gif

bosch can be cheap if know where to find the lubang brows.gif for instance i got my solo bosch GKS 18v circular saw for RM660, GST 18v jigsaw for RM550 nett... biggrin.gif

anyway, i'm now done with bosch. migrating to makita now too....but corded makita tool laugh.gif

cheapest i could find is this:

http://www.lazada.com.my/solo-2p-18v40ahal...20769.html?ff=1

2 x 4.0ah batt pack + charger

with rm 50 discount, it would be RM625

let's say charger cost you RM 100, that means RM525 /2 = RM261 each the batt

still rm 50 more than what newspaper found

haihs... i must learn more from sifu
*
i got my last batch of 2 x 4.Ah + charger for RM548 shipped. ( RM667 less RM100 discount voucher less RM 27 store credit )

let say from your calculation, less charger RM100, that means 448/2 = RM224 each batt.

( actual charger cost RM150 biggrin.gif )

if you really want to get those batt at discounted price, i will let you know once it's on sales with discount voucher biggrin.gif now no high value voucher sad.gif

the shopee voucher can only be used to buy from that one particular seller

some of his stuff are expensive

some are downright cheap - like the l-boxxes, he is selling well below MSRP / other people

some random sellers also sell tools wayy below other people's low prices, example this:

https://shopee.com.my/BOSCH-GWS-18-V-LI-Cor...30775.255142553

RM470 only, no need voucher or anything

the nearest competitor sells for rm 530+, and trust me, i've been monitoring the grinder prices for almost 4 months liao.

next in list would be another drill driver (i have 4 liao), but this time will be an impact driver  tongue.gif
*
i recently got mine for RM447 ( after discount voucher and shopback rebate ).

generally bosch tool pricing is still maintaining and some had been reduce from last year price. meanwhile, makita tool price has been increased compare to last year pricing vmad.gif

for me, those quality tool are really different from those general hardware store one. the moment you pick it up, you can feel it already. and not to mentioned mostly come with lifetime warranty too thus making my investment of quality tool worth much more. for me it's a long term investment and hardly fail went on duty...and can pass this on to my son later.. biggrin.gif

Didn't bring much makita item here.

Should change distributor and increase the product here.
*
no more makita distributor for my. it's direct makita principal. few of the hardware shop owner that I know went for their conference last week...they will bring in more variety here but the price is... bye.gif. if no volume order means no discount price for dealer so end of the day we end user are paying high price for it ranting.gif

rm 1.8k for a bare tool, i must be crazy. LOL

rm1.8k consider as an investment lo...you do 1 small job already roi

QUOTE(lucifah @ Jul 24 2017, 09:14 PM)
oh, btw, shoppee bosch official store no longer provide cheap shipping for l-boxx

haiya... the seller notified me that shoppee has asked them to re-valuate their postage by volumetric weight, not actual weight
*
lucky i had stock up enough from previous sales. current sales is 10% without max cap, so it's good to purchase high price item with current discount.

just a side note to all bosch's fan.. biggrin.gif

all heavy duty range from Bosch will increase price next month. 8% - 10%. they will also launch few new cordless item ;

1. New GSA 18v-32 Saber saw
2. New GSR 18v EC drill driver ( with metal chuck ) - some dealer already has this.
3. New GSB 18v EC hammer drill ( with metal chuck ) - ready stocks in bosch warehouse. will release it dealer next month
4. New GKS 18v circular saw ( to replace existing local model, left handed to right handed model )
5. New GST 18v jigsaw
6. Reintroduce 10.8v/12v 4.0ah battery in MY. Penang factory allocated the current batch for local market. Previous all batches supplied all to oversea ( very high demand therefore abandon MY market ranting.gif )

i think it's going to be the GSB18v-26 EC. a very powerful impact drill driver that can almost do double duty as a boschammer. it's quite pricey in europe. around rm 2.5k

glad that they are allocating more high cap batteries for malaysian market. it's crazy cos those batts are made in malaysia, and we malaysians can't get the high caps like 5.0a/6.0a 18V and the latest and very powerful 6.3a CORE 18V

edit: oh, i am waiting for 18v LED lamp from bosch in malaysia. the GLI18 & GLI-VariLED is kinda interesting, though pricey (based on amazon price, RM300+ and rm100+ respectively)
*
core 18v battery won't be available here so soon.

18v led is also one of the new item to be launch here...not sure which model but definitely not the GLI Variled model. It's either GLI18v 1900 ( swiveling stand ) or GLI 18v - 300 ( look like the robot leg one..).

I have GLI18V & FL12.
Looking at the new GLI18V-1900 & GLI18V-300...
GLI18V-1900 looks like a flood light, GLI18V-300 looks like normal standing torch offered by others.

For the uniqueness and compactness I still prefer the FL12.

I am still hoping to get the Bosch GLI12V-80 torch light @ below rm100 ...
[attachmentid=8988160]
*
I always prefer FL12 for its versatility. Love the magnet and carabiner hook.

The cheapest GLI12v 80 i bought is around rm130++. Nothing unique about this torch. Dont like the bulky body and no brightness mode. I bought it just to make use of my spare batteries...

Wow. I wonder which model will be brought in? GST 18V-Li S barrel grip? The GSA 18V-32 look a bit weird I prefer the 18 V-Li compact format.

I already got the new GSR 18V-EC from singapore and looking forward to the GLI-1900 flood light and 18V circular saw.
*
How much is the GSR 18V EC ( metal chuck ) you got from singapore? My supplier here quoted me RM4xx for a solo unit. GSB 18v EC ( metal chuck ) for almost RM500 for it. GSB is arriving next Mon.
