Hi Guys, sorry for asking here (as I see no recent carpentry thread active). Any recommended lumber yard/mill near Shah Alam? The one that can cater for small purchases (< 10 or 15 pieces).

QUOTE(shyan90's @ Aug 20 2020, 01:06 AM) The wall I not sure is made of concrete/AAC blocks... How to tell the differences? The Looking for cordless cause easy to bring here there.. I mainly use to drill some hole for TV bracket, cloth hanger behind to door and maybe in some tiles to install some toilet cabinet. Just worry that GSB120LI able to do this work but take alot effort...GSB180LI for sure better choice and around 100 extra compare with GSB120LI.. I think I would agree on ceo684's suggestion to get 1 corded RH + 1 cordless drill driver. I bought a 720W impact previously and was drilling holes fairly easily until I met with concrete. The elbow greese you need to put into it I tell you, will make you tired with just 2 holes. Somemore if you want to drill at hard to reach places like curtain rails. I think with the above configuration you can get both for < RM700 for a Stanley. **Btw any pros can comment for Stanley?

QUOTE(wenloong78 @ Aug 21 2020, 08:50 PM) Just to share my recent experience of using Bosch GSB 120 Li Gen2 cordless drill. I had just finished a project which is build by using Balau timber. I had a hard time drilling pocket hole, screwing pocket hole screws and normal scews (pre-drilled hole) on these Balau timber. Can feel heat is generated fast from the drill The 1.5Ah Battery only can last around 20-25times of drilling. the holes diameter is 4mm and 10mm, with 38- 50mm deep. Guess the the 30Nm from GSB120 Li is quite not enough to handle dense hard wood. Now begin to consider to get a GDR 120 impact driver which can produce up to 100Nm. It can help to save time in switching between drill bits and screw driver bits I never like screwing fasteners using a drill driver. The torque that your wrist experienced once the screw is tight is just tiring. But having an impact driver would spoil you tho. Anyone can comment on Bosch's impact drivers? Online reviews tent to place it lower than its competitors (even their GDX is under performing). But not really sure these comparisons are really significant in real life applications.

Dear Sifus, need some recommendation for a cordless platform to invest in.
If you could start fresh, which brand would you choose?
