I need the variable speed so that I can use it to also scrub my bathroom floor tiles that has lots of stubborn ugly water stains.

Contractors use diluted hydrochloride acid to certain percentage. Sold in hardware shop as tiles cleaner.

They just pour to the tiles. Let it soak for about 15 min and then brush it with wire bushed. If you have water deposit sort of like calcium there on surface, it will softened it and more easily to come off. Yes that copper wire brush used to clean rust on iron fence or grill before repainting.

The acid is not expensive like RM10+ for a container like a gallon if not mistaken.

I tried that method in my previous house toilet, i f*cked it up, that acid thing eat thru the cement grouts and cause severe water leaks.
And also using the wire brushed also killed my toilet tiles as it's too harsh for the tiles until it create lots of deep scratches that is no way to remove them. So end up I sold that house. smile.gif

Use stronger cleaner will do. Those from PYE etc. it is cleaner than scrubbing with home cleaner + grinder.

Acid need careful especially if you hv plastic drain outlet, cannot leave too long. Acid vapor will stain you plastic and chrome tap too so you need wrap all before pouring acid.

Cordless drill with brush or wire mesh is safer too.

Sold the house? laugh.gif That solved the problem

What kind of tile is that. Toilet floor tile is not that fragile and the grout is not actually 100% for water proofing. The whole floor itself should be water proof concrete slab.

I used the acid several time but nothing damaged. I used the fine copper wire though.

Note that some cheap China tile used by contractor can actually collect stain from tile bottom. Seep through tiles. It may looks like the stain is on surface that can never be removed. nod.gif

Anyone here has Bosch X-lock GWX 17-125ci angle grinder?

Worth to get it or not?
*
good luck on limited cutting discs available for you to use to enjoy the X-lock

i tried many brands of cutting discs and found bosch ones are very average

on the extreme end, i have ultra fast cutting disc, but it eats thru the disc as fast as it chew the metal

and on the other end, i have ultra cheap, ultra slow, and ultra long lasting disc that i can use for work

as for speed control, faster = better. as long as u dont exceed the disc rating

Chrome one cannot. Chrome plastic lagi gg. It will stain plastic on water heater and shower head too but cover those part will do.

It will also eat away the tiles enamel too if too concentrate or leave it too long.

Specialize tile cleaner from company like PYE etc will do the job. At least try these first prior using acid. Acid is mean to clean cement stain.

i wont use a corded 240V tool in a wet environment. its just... nasty

i invested in 18V tools just for that purpose as i deal with wet conditions at site

and i go back to corded power at my workshop

nothing beats corded grinder. cordless one fizzle out after 20 mins or so. or it get too warm and the batt start to do circuit protection

Hi, I'm looking for a budget cordless drill for ad-hoc screwing and drill some hole for equipment installation.

Is it ok if I get this? 36v impact drill? Or any better recommend ation?

Btw I don'tvhag the concept of the volt, do I really need 36v. Primarily would be using for screwing screw and secondary if can drill wall for equipment installation.

Normally the higher the voltage the more powerful the product in case of power tool.

This is China product but since it has local support and warranty then I guess it is good for occasional purpose or more than that.

I don't have experience with it but many China brands keep popping up and I can say that they just copy the established brand since many known brand are made in China. The internal part may be a bit inferior but for occasional DIY I think it is still okay.
