QUOTE(chamelion @ Oct 5 2021, 08:59 AM) Chrome one cannot. Chrome plastic lagi gg. It will stain plastic on water heater and shower head too but cover those part will do. It will also eat away the tiles enamel too if too concentrate or leave it too long. Specialize tile cleaner from company like PYE etc will do the job. At least try these first prior using acid. Acid is mean to clean cement stain. OK

QUOTE(IceBikers @ Oct 10 2021, 10:34 PM) Hi, I'm looking for a budget cordless drill for ad-hoc screwing and drill some hole for equipment installation. Is it ok if I get this? 36v impact drill? Or any better recommend ation? https://shopee.com.my/product/343370131/904...96-1633874676.9Btw I don'tvhag the concept of the volt, do I really need 36v. Primarily would be using for screwing screw and secondary if can drill wall for equipment installation. Normally the higher the voltage the more powerful the product in case of power tool. This is China product but since it has local support and warranty then I guess it is good for occasional purpose or more than that. I don't have experience with it but many China brands keep popping up and I can say that they just copy the established brand since many known brand are made in China. The internal part may be a bit inferior but for occasional DIY I think it is still okay.

QUOTE(PalakOtakHang @ Oct 11 2021, 08:37 PM) ty. today i learn washer doesnt come only in conical shape There are many type of washers. The picture below is not even half of them
The one you ask some call them spring washer, split washer and locking washer. It is to lock the nut from getting loose. As you can see the split is in such a way that the sharp edge is wedging the nut if you unlock it. The normal washer distribute the load over wider surface area and not only protect the material surface you are locking. The question is why it is called washer since it does not wash anything

QUOTE(lyt25_1234 @ Oct 20 2021, 04:59 PM) I just received my Bosch GWX 18V angle grinder and firsts time using it and found out that angle grinder is actually the most dangerous power tools. The kickback can really hurt a person badly. So now I am a bit worry of using it... So I am thinking to scrap this DIY and just take this as my expensive lesson of buying such power tool and not dare to use it. I am going to plan to sell it off but not right now. I will keep it for some time first. (Maybe after some time, my guts are back and I dare to use it...LoL) For now, I just get myself plenty of PPE to standby first. Yes, do not hold it in one hand. People tend to get carried away after a while. Get steady position. Wear PPE. Cut or grind lightly. Do not push harder to get faster result. People invent chainsaw blade, saw blade for use with grinder. This is even more dangerous shortcut unless you know what you are doing but even pro also do get injuries. QUOTE(stormer.lyn @ Oct 24 2021, 08:09 PM) Yisheng Hardware and Timber in Subang New Village/Shah Alam is clearing stock of Dongcheng 2-mode rotary hammer for RM 119. I believe it is because they are changing to the "Total" brand from now on. This below image is from the Dongcheng official store on Sh*pee This post is just in case you are interested, but if you are not, just ignore thanks. Disclaimer : I have no affiliation to this store, nor am I receiving anything in return. I make no claim or recommendation to the suitability of the item I am posting about. You are entirely responsible for the actions you take after reading this post. This is simply information on price that I saw as I was walking around the store recently. How you know Dongcheng is re-branding to Total? I don;t see any similarity between the two brands

QUOTE(stormer.lyn @ Oct 25 2021, 08:36 AM) Is that what you understand from reading the first and second sentence together? Guess I should edit my original post then. Now I think I understand what you meant This is because they is ambiguous and the word changing made me think that they refers to Dingcheng since shops are not selling just one brand

QUOTE(lyt25_1234 @ Oct 26 2021, 02:54 PM) I just found a buyer to buy my Bosch GWX 18v angle grinder. Phew....what a relief. Now I bought another angle grinder which has the variable speed, Bosch GWS 900-100s for much cheaper price. Can I ask if anyone here bought this unit? Is it good? It is rated Heavy Duty by Bosch, right? And you are not a pro. More than good... should be

QUOTE(lyt25_1234 @ Oct 27 2021, 08:15 AM) I am going to use it to do alot of woodworking (DIY furnitures). And also I need to cut some tiles. Yes, you are right about the use of grinder is far lesser than those ppl who use it as their daily work. But I choose GWS900-100S for it's durability and it's form factor. The thickness of it is much thinner than GWS060, right? So it will have better grip and less fatigue for long usage. And the main thing is that it has the option to control the speed, which GWS060 doesn't have. I can use it to do sanding of rust on my gates and awning next time. I can also use it to do some basic wax and polishing of my cars. The next good thing about GWS900-100S is that it is also have a slow start, so it won't jolt when switching on and also the safe restart feature. I think most of the ppl also agree that Bosch spare parts are cheap and easily available to buy online such as carbon brush, amature, flanges, guards, anti-vibration handle, bearings, gears etc. So this is also another reason I choose Bosch brand. Can use for most job but NOT for car polish. Even at slowest speed it is still to fast. Generate heat that will damage the car paint. To polish car, go for proper polishing tool. Grinder can use to buff metal surface especially the stainless steel only

QUOTE(lyt25_1234 @ Oct 29 2021, 01:15 PM) I have a dilemma here on choosing the right cutting disc for my grinder. I saw this in Shopee, which can use for many applications, cutting plastic, cutting wood, cutting concrete, cutting plaster etc. Carbide Multi WheelIs this disc reliable? Or should I get a dedicated cutting disc for cutting specific material? Can see so many reiew in Youtube

QUOTE(ceo684 @ Nov 2 2021, 04:37 AM) Should be reliable enough. But if wanna "condemn the disc" on concrete cutting chases the diamond edged ones are much cheaper. It should last damn long if you're cutting metal being a carbide blade. ⚠️ Cutting plaster board with grinder will produce a Desert Storm kind of dust cloud ⚠️ Best for plaster board, hacksaw? Grinder for plaster board is overkill

QUOTE(lyt25_1234 @ Nov 2 2021, 01:11 PM) I saw some youtubes, there are some 3D printed dust extractor for angle grinder. I am going to download that drawing and load to my 3d printer to try it out. There are dust extractor for grinders out there. I think the problem is the vacuum will get choked in no time.

QUOTE(ceo684 @ Nov 15 2021, 02:20 PM) Got pic? Worst case, use sth like aluminum flat bar make adapter bar so that it can still be affixed to wall but not being drilled at critical zone. Liquid Nails will stick but if there is movement from day to day use it might drop off one day.. This is the best option to reduce risk to zero

QUOTE(idkihavenoidealol @ Nov 15 2021, 05:27 PM) Something like this. For the mixer tap, it's concealed type. I think maybe it will be detached but it won't drop off due to the top inlet connection. The point you said need to fix to the wall looks like the valve point, right? Doesn't it need to be replaced by the fixture valve? Nothing to drill here. The point stated as Top Inlet is the point to drill and fix the holder for the rain shower. It is not the inlet, seems to me. The piping is from the bottom up to the valve point only. So, at the Top Inlet point there is no piping, I strongly believe.

QUOTE(idkihavenoidealol @ Nov 16 2021, 12:11 PM) Nop, your statement is correct for bottom inlet (or normal type). For my case is top inlet, which means top is the inlet lol Yes, existing head connection. But I don't need to drill above existing shower head, what I meant was I need to drill below the shower head and above the mixer tap where there'll be piping. I guess it's too risky, so I'll see whether to use liquid nail or what Miss ceo suggested, connect using flat bar so that drill points can be away from the piping route. Never seen one like that. I thought the valve there water comes in and you can channel either to hand shower or rain shower at the top there I don't have idea why need to drill at the inlet there

QUOTE(lyt25_1234 @ Nov 16 2021, 04:43 PM) This depend on disc. It will drag your hand in one direction like grinder and if not careful you end up cutting your shiny tile surface. If you opt for this, then better find cheap multi tool, easier to control.
