everyone has their own habits before going on stage. . you just got to find what calms you and relaxes you. . for me i always have a carton of milk and i pray before i go up there and play. . . lolz. . . and of course warm up. . . usually i isolate myself and just do warm up stuff. . . and do some stuff. . lolz embarrasing stuff . . xD at least i don step on a plate of crap. . i forgotten who but ther was this 1 guitarist who has this litter box full of crap in it . . mud, shit, condoms, thrrash food and stuff then he steps on it before stage. . lolz
stage fright can be overcome by performing alot . .. just play alot of gigs and you'll overcoem the fright. . . either that or try and shut our the audience =D try working small venues and slowly gig at bigger ones. . . schools are a good way to start. . . IU's and stuff. . As for lyrics i guess you just got to really drill the sogn to your head and try not let the fright stress you out till you blank out. . . it's more of experience then anything. . . i'm sure the rest of the guys in the forum who play live can tell you that =D |

actually being on stage is not as scary as it seems. cos sumtimes the stage r so bright that u can hardly see the audiences, just like ur playing to an empty room. dun worry too much, butterflies r normal, get it on and get it over with, just like how u practise a million times. :-)

i keep from making eye contact with the audience. But nobody pays attention to the bassist anyway, so i'm allowed to do that
If you're the lead singer, then that won't work. |

Warm up your voice. Get familiar with the notes you're about to sing... ermm... I don't really know the proper way to warm-up but I supposed you could try singing Do-re-mi or something??
Of course, refrain from eating spicy food or eating too much before the show. |

again if you perform again,
1) Avoid eating heavily throughout the day 2) 100Plus is your best friend 3) Enjoy and soak up the moment 4) Warm up your vocal cords this is what a prominent local director taught me when I was doing theatrical stuff.. |

i am really not sure how you should warm up, but in my vocal class. we play major broken chords to warm up, then sing with ah-ah-ah-ah then proceed higher or lower from middle c. you will need an instrument for that. it will make sure your throat is ready for high or low note.
hope this helps i am not sure whether broken chords means this but to play it's c-e-g-e then d - #f - a - #f then e - #g - b - #g then either accending depends that you are gonna sing high/low note sry, i never taken any formal theory classes b4..
