I was on a cruise for a few days with limited internet access. Logged in today. Wow. Everything red except for LC Titan. Switched out immediately.

Note to self: Do not be 100% fully invested at all times. If the market corrects further, I have to find extra ammo to top up. AnnJoo looks yummy for top up. 10% discount these few days!

HengYuan has fallen off the cliff as I predicted. Let’s see how far it will go. PetronM looks interesting. Need to do some calculation.

Personally don't think refiners are good theme for this year, I could be wrong.
Shutdown, Euro4 upgrade dateline, massive upgrade capex, stubborn high crude oil.
Massive capex will incur more depreciation down the road, which may erode profit margin as well.

Also US's Gasoline inventory number are building up since the Hurricane shut down. (can refer to weekly US inventory data)
Forward futures contract for crack spread is on declining trend.

After upgrading and restarting, only then there is more clarity picture.

Still expect volatile price swing in between.

Nestle trailing PE is >50x
Div yield 1.8%

And still keep on going up.

Mind that Nestle is not a high growth stock.

Even high growth stock like glove and Semi-conductor, AI sector only traded around 20~30x PE.

Portfolio managers, index fund managers are struggling to add this stock into their list, especially after Nestle being included into KLCI index.
(Coincident that price sky-rocketing after KLCI index inclusion)
This stock liquidity is not high to start with, so a few fund mangers chasing can easily send the stock sky-rocketing

Also, EPF is actively trading this stock which can be seen from substantial shareholders changing report.

this is every dilemma for those fund manager invest in klse. obviously some waterfish will fall in the trap soon for chasing this stock. innocent.gif

As fund manager or specifically using index as benchmark, if you beat the benchmark, you are brilliant fund manager, disregard it is making money or not.

Also, when investors pouring money into equities fund, they need to buy stocks, they cannot say, stocks are high at the moment, I don't want to buy.
They are mandate to invest at least x% of the fund into their respective fund objective.
They only can maintain certain % in cash.

They are not "waterfish", they are required to work based on their fund objective.
If Index run away and set a new high due to Nestle run, while a fund manager own zero stock of Nestle resulted fund underperform the index, top management, investors will see this fund manager as poor, and may get sack as well.

If you are the fund manager that using index as benchmark, what you will do?
Just buy due to fear of losing out the run.

Still planning to hold on PetronM as of now? What is the reason behind the recent price plummet of petronm and hengyuan?
*
Euro 4 upgrade dateline, shutdown for 2~3 months for the upgrading highly will result in loss for a quarter.
Crack spread also is trending lower based on the futures contract.

Also, from TA, it is still on down trend.

Caused by huge impairment.

This is something already expected by the market (when it was around RM1.xx and plunged to below 0.50), if not its share won't be trading at less than 0.5x BV.

Want to check with all sifus here, as usually i buy mother shares, but during HY bullish times, i take the risk to bet on some HYCH.

But right now, HY is having some massive selloff with the bearish market ahead.

i believe HY CH will not service this.

If untill the june 29, and HYCH does not cross its exercise value of 8.0, what will happen?

Will i get back the remaining amount from rakutentrade?
or i will have to convert back to mother share with the high premium of 31.22%?

Thanks guys.
*
CW is not able to convert to mothershare.

If CW is out of money, you get nothing once its expired.
There is no "remaining" if CW is out of money and expired.

Wah, MEGA SALE started!!! Look at UCHITEC and FPI. Drop more than -10% to -13% in one day. KESM dropped -18%. LC Titan dropped -9.1%, PetronM dropped -14% and so on.

Topped up UCHITEC at RM2.270 and RM2.280. Now selling at RM2.210.

Time to do margin trading, borrow from Ah Long, max out the credit card? Hahaha.

Men or boys, all will be slaughtered in this kind of storm, no different one.

The difference is aftermath of the storm, aka the one survive through the storm.

That's why margin is dangerous.

Ya, with this kind of degree of drop, there may be some margin call.

If the real bear really hit, normally it will take awhile to settle down.

US market has been up and down a lot lately suggest the volatility will be around sometimes.

Cis! The show is over so fast? No time to borrow from Ah Long or credit card to top up.

For e.g. Muhibbah Engineering bounced back +12.351% today. Imagine if you taruh RM100K at the close of trading yesterday. Today you earn RM12K.

Temper your greed! Temper your greed! If only investing/trading in the stock market is so simple. smile.gif

We shall see. We shall see.

Just a thought...if a person is a part time trader and made let's say RM2K to RM3K within T+3 from one counter alone because the stock went up by 10%, then can consider selling?

No right or wrong answer.
*
You already answered in your own question.

The objective of investment/trade must be right and clear to start with.
Never mix trade vs investment.
This is the most common mistake of retailers and "crabbed" with their holding.

intraday short selling..certain broker start run this..
i tell u...alot of hassle ya..

For ordinary retailers, IDSS has not much attraction, but only more hassle.

The short must be covered before market closed, which is already a big key disadvantage to the short.

Also, there is always a chance that a short is not properly closed, before the market close, as when trading at last time, there may not any seller for the closing price set.
By then, an arrangement to borrow share with investment banks need to be done at a cost already.

Seems like apart from the ultimate upstream player, those O&G supporting and servicing sector still face a lot of risk, despite oil price has recovered a lot of ground.
