"abuse" can be an open-ended sword for Celcom to throttle "abusers" at between 30GB to 100GB per month. Eg TM Unifi Mobile throttles the users of its "unlimited" data postpaid RM59 promo plan under 1-year contract at the FUP limit of 30GB per month to 3Mbps from the normal 20Mbps.

This thing need to be tested out by subscribers, in order to eliminate any hidden agenda.

Don't think so, got someone post about it with proof in prepaid unlimited internet war thread. More than 20GB usage in 2 days.

I am on days 5 with weekly CUP, reaching 60GB usage today. 🤭

This likely means CUP35's FUP limit is not 50GB per month = CUP35 > HUP35/45.

CUP35's FUP limit could be 100GB per month. Please report back when your usage exceeded 80GB and 100GB or 150GB per month.

I am on weekly only. After Hotlink 50GB FUP, really don't want to waste money for testing. But in 2 hours, will subscribe to monthly CUP.

My usage is around 95 - 99GB in 1 week. Sorry, I can't show proof, scare they pinpoint my account and ban. 🤭

The best truly unlimited cheap internet after Digi RM1/day, but it's a little bit slower than Hotlink, both response and overall speed.

Thanks for the reply.

azhar75 CUP35's FUP limit should be at least 100GB per month, as per above reply = more suited for heavy data users, compared to Maxis HUP35. Not a surprise since Celcom is a sister company of TM HSBB Fiber = free Internet data.?

''''''' KUALA LUMPUR: The chief executive officer (CEO) of Celcom Axiata Bhd Michael Kuehner’s remark has prompted the investing fraternity to speculate how the two would merge.

Kuehner has been quoted by Bernama as saying that it makes sense to merge Telekom Malaysia Bhd ™ and Axiata Group Bhd, both of which are owned by Khazanah Nasional Bhd.

Yesterday, Bernama cited Kuehner as saying that merging TM and Celcom could result in “a lot of synergy” as both run big networks in the country, but it was still up to shareholders to make the final decision. '''''''

same owner. but still different management.

Afaik;
.
The owner or controlling shareholder decides on business policies and can over-ride management decisions, not the other way round. The CEO is appointed or hired as an employee by the owner to make more money for the owner. The CEO or other managers can be sacked by the owner at any time, eg for non-performance, but must be in accordance with his employment contract, eg golden parachute.

Hence TM Unifi Mobile rides on Celcom's 3G network and not on Maxis's or Digi's, a decision likely made by the owner, not by their management.

you just need to chat with celcom on fb. simple as that.

here's my poor experience with volte: voice gets lots of interference (like having poor signal) in certain areas. never had such problem if drop to 3G. i guess i'll just prefer 3G instead of 4G volte for voice call.
*
.
The likely reason; ...

Most 4G LTE cell towers have a range/reach of about 1km/1,000m only, even though the maximum range for LTE Internet data and VoLTE/IMS is 5km or 3 miles(= high-powered cell towers on 4G LTE 800MHz to 900MHz frequencies). In comparison, 3G/2G cell towers have a maximum range of 22 miles or 35km for Voice calls and SMS. ....... https://opencellid.org/#zoom=16&lat=3.07197&lon=101.61368

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cell_site
"In addition, some technologies, such as GSM, have an additional absolute maximum range of 35 kilometres (22 mi), which is imposed by technical limitations.

So, the average quality and reliability of 4G VoLTE calls and IMS are definitely much lower than 3G/2G.

Which celcos will still be maintaining 2G after 3G has been taken down at end 2021.? Eg YTL YES has no 3G or 2G, ie only 4G. .......

https://www.malaymail.com/news/malaysia/202...to-know/1898557 - 2020/08/30/Malaysia-to-switch-off-3G-by-2021-here-are-six-things-you-need-to-know

https://www.malaysianwireless.com/2020/09/m...2g-voice-volte/ - 2020/09/malaysia-3g-shut-down-maxis-celcom-2g-voice-volte/
= seems Celcom and Maxis will still be maintaining 2G after 3G has been sunset.
