I have been to indonesia and is a little familiar with indonesia. For your information, Most Indonesian is not Malay. Only in Malaysia, Malaysian think that Indonesian is Malay. In Indo, suku-suku is highly identified. Most are Javanese. They think that they are different from Malay. Suku Malay only a little portion in indo. For our Malay friends in Malaysia, indonesian see you NOT the same as them in term of suku and culture. They will say, "its very different."
Indonesian is in dismay of poverty. Indonesian laws (hukum) and its court is as good as another corrupted organisation. Ppl there exercise "social responsibility" for upholding the laws (their very own laws). Indonesian will in mob smash the thief shall you be shouting for help due to robbery or thievery. these ppl don't actually look into the situation of whether it is a real robbery or thievery, they just smash the person and cabut. They are so frustrated of poverty and when there is a chance for them to mob, they'd like that. Just like you taking goodies (because of "tak sedap hati" not of poverty) and did some vandalism. Sometimes the person may die in the mob.
And the chinese killing activities in indo is a dirty game played by the bad guy - the then-president now in trial for corruption. Just spread something to ignite, the mob will do the job. The then-president was about to get his arse kicked, so, he played the game in hope of diverting the spotlight. However, his arse was kicked anyway just after the biggest mob in the history.
Indo has high literacy rate, if not mistaken, over 90%. But the education standard is low. You know, the proud thing to be a chinese is not of physical wealth, its of the wisdom inherited from the ancestors. Most chinese nowadays do not realise the great wisdom of the east. Losing contact with the great wisdom. Chasing after western civilisation, which is a dead end in front. Its about being competitive. Think of what would those less competitive would do at the end? Or those with the most competitive advantage would do? Need a balance? Of course this is not limited to the nowadays chinese, its like a global phenomenon.

How could chinese 1st landed and started to live in Indonesia or Malaysia? Its because back in time then, chinese still got a little wisdom, not the pure wisdom. Chinese able to be friend with the native, thats the point. Nowadays, because of politicians wanted to be at the top, playing racial card. And not to deny, chinese losing the inherited wisdom and is trying to be competitive as well. Both politicians and the chinese trying to be competitive, powerful, at the end losing friendship. Thats the situation we are living now.
Go back to kampung and observed the old malay ppl there. How friendly they are to non-malay. Even these ppl visit the chinese kopitiam despite no halal sign. They follow muslim, just eat bread and drink kopi in kopitiam, what's the big deal of halal. As long as no pork is consumed, they are happy that they follow the muslim way. I agreed, muslim is for peace, not isolation and differentiation. Now, even the politics come from the agama ppl.
btw, i'm neither malay nor javanese. Just to share some facts where most malaysian may not know about indo. And chinese who do not know about themselves.

Without doubt, the court was biased to the b****d and very unjust to the families of the victims.
after all, those who commit crimes against kids tends to rank extremely low indeed on the food chain inside the prison hierachy.
) Not that Malaysia is doing any better though.
